CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO Eva opened her eyes after a night of blessed slumber. Daylight streamed in, highlighting the ever-present motes of dust. The scent of stale cooked food made her stomach growl, and she noticed the barely-touched meal Madden had ordered still on the trolley. She must have dropped off before the bellboy arrived.
