CHAPTER TWELVE
Madden had no choice. Helpless to act in any other way, he edged the car forward. Eva knew he had no choice.
“Rick, what is this?”
“I'm sorry Dr Scott; I have no knowledge of who this might be. All information indicated this area was deserted other than the small villages around the lake. Certainly no army about here.”
This made Eva think. “Army?”
“Look at the size of them, love,” said Madden. “Look at the organization.”
“I didn't see a single weapon. And Elaine? What was her excuse for subservience when she tends to fury at the drop of a hat? There might be more to this than we are aware of. May I suggest an element of caution until we find out exactly what's going on?”
