(Selene’s POV)
“Ah…”
His kiss was demanding, and I was thoroughly enjoying it. For some reason, I found myself growing even more addicted to his touch.
His lips pressed against mine, trailed down to my neck, licking me until my moans escaped again.
I felt like I was about to reach my climax, yet I couldn’t. It felt strange to climax like this, but it was undeniably satisfying.
“Oh! Lucian!” I gasped in surprise when I felt his lips sucking on my skin, leaving hickey marks on my chest.
My breathing was ragged, as was his. His eyes, which had been glowing red with desire just moments ago, gradually returned to their natural colour.
“You’re intoxicating, you know that?” he murmured.
“You always say that.”
“Because it’s true. You’re like morphine—once I taste you, you feel like heaven. And your scent… it’s irresistible, Selene.”
I chuckled. “Really?”
“What do you use? You always smell amazing whenever I’m around as if you do it on purpose.”
“Hey, I didn’t even know you were coming tonight. Well, maybe it’s because of my skincare routine?”
He chuckled, running his fingers through my hair. “A she-wolf doing skincare… How amusing. You know, in my era, things like that didn’t exist. I mean, back then, female wolves didn’t care about skincare.”
I nodded, amused by the thought. Given our vast age gap, talking about his era and mine felt like discussing two entirely different worlds.
“And in your era, of course, all female wolves are familiar with skincare,” he added.
“I love skincare. I love being human, Lucian.”
“I know. As long as you don’t forget who you truly are. Besides, you’ll be my queen—you must work for our pack.”
I nodded, understanding his expectations.
“Dexton was truly ungrateful to have you. You’re already this beautiful, and you even take care of yourself. That just means I’m the lucky one.”
I laughed, genuinely happy that someone considered himself fortunate to have me. It felt as if my existence alone was his greatest treasure.
Then, as if unable to resist, he playfully tickled me before claiming my lips again, this time with unrestrained hunger.
This time, I didn’t push him away. I didn’t stop his kiss or resist his touch—because this was the part I loved the most when he kissed me.
His lips and hands felt like magnets against my body, pulling me in, and making me never want to let go.
If I didn’t see him for even a day or couldn’t feel his touch, I might go insane.
So, from this moment on, I decided to savour every caress he gave me—because, in his own way, he was showing me just how deeply he cared.
“Hmm,” I moaned as he pulled away.
“Lucian, if you leave marks on me, what will happen? You know the council doesn’t approve of me as your mate, right?” I asked, curious.
No matter how confident he seemed about having me, I still needed to know his plan and be assured that I would be safe with him.
“I’ll handle them. You don’t have to worry about a thing,” he said firmly. “Right now, you don’t need to do anything—because they’re the ones opposing my decision.”
“Are you sure you’ll be okay?”
He nodded, cupping my cheek. “Our pack, and even Harper, are on my side. None of them are against me.”
“I know, but you’re well aware of how persistent the council is about keeping you away from me.”
“If being with you means going through hell, then so be it, Selene. I’ve been through worse.”
His words touched me deeply. He was truly fighting for me, so determined to be with me. His gaze held nothing but certainty—an undeniable desire for me.
“Thank you for choosing me.”
“Well,” he kissed my hand, “so, when will you be ready for me to mark you, Selene?”
Without thinking, I answered, “How about tomorrow?”
“Why tomorrow?” he asked.
“Because I need to prepare myself, Lucian. I don’t want to rush into this recklessly.”
He nodded. “Alright then. But this is the last time, okay? I won’t wait any longer.”
“I know. And thank you for being patient with me.”
No one had ever understood me this much. Only Lucian. Even Dexton, whom I once loved, had never been this understanding.
Maybe that’s what happens when you love someone deeply—they end up treating you however they please.
“I can’t wait for tomorrow, Selene.”
His hands wandered again, teasingly touching me. And I let him. “You’ll have to wait until tomorrow.”
This time, I cupped his face, feeling the roughness of his stubble beneath my fingertips.
“Don’t worry. Sooner or later, I’ll be yours—just as you want, Lucian.”
“I know. It’s just that the urge to mark you is overwhelming. You don’t understand what it’s like—to be so deeply bonded, to want to protect and claim you completely.”
I nodded, understanding. And this time, I kissed him first.
He seemed surprised by my sudden action, but soon, he responded, deepening the kiss.
More skilled than I was, he devoured my lips, sucking and licking them. I mirrored his actions, swirling my tongue inside his mouth, which he eagerly sucked on, making everything feel even hotter.
His hands moved again, kneading my breasts. Every inch of my body that he kissed was left wet by him.
Just this was enough to make me feel like I would explode.
Then, he shifted me, his hand supporting my head while his fingers began teasing my most sensitive spot.
I blinked in surprise when he pulled away, breaking our kiss.
“You’re getting bolder, Selene,” he whispered. “Do you know how incredibly sexy you are when you do this?”
I blushed. “I’m only this bold because you’ve been teaching me.”
“Well, at least I’m proud that you’re this bold with me.”
And then, I kissed him again—silencing his lips with mine.
This time, he kissed me back with even more hunger, more madness.
