CHAPTER 19

(Lucian’s POV) “MY GOD! Lucian, you scared me!” She looked so beautiful when she was startled, seeing me sitting on her bed, waiting for her to finish her shower after I returned from Dexton’s house. More than that, her body was incredibly tempting, dressed in nothing but a sheer satin nightgown that clung to her figure. Her full, round breasts were enticing, and instinctively, she covered them with both hands, embarrassed when she noticed my gaze lingering there. “H-how long have you been here?” she asked nervously. She was adorable when she was flustered—like an innocent little girl—while I remained the wolf who wanted to devour her whole. “I’ve been here for a while now.” I stood up and walked toward her. “You know, you look very tempting in that outfit, Selene.” She slowly stepped back, but I pulled her toward me until her body pressed against mine. My heart couldn’t lie—I was crazy about her. I loved her more than I could ever express. Even just touching her like this sent a jolt through me, intoxicating and addictive. “L-Lucian,” she stammered, her voice trembling with embarrassment and nervousness. “I can’t hide what I’m thinking when you’re dressed like this, Selene.” Her cheeks turned red as if she were wearing a natural blush that made her even more beautiful. “You’re the one feeling tempted, but now you’re the one seducing me, huh?” I kissed her lips briefly before pulling away. “You started it, so I just reacted, Selene.” “So, you really are a flirt, Lycan King.” “Did you always wear nightgowns like this when you were with Dexton?” I asked. The question slipped out before I could stop it. The thought of her looking like this every night in front of Dexton made me jealous. It felt like she should have been mine from the beginning. Selene sighed and nodded. “Yeah, that’s true. But I always sleep dressed like this—I just feel more comfortable that way.” “You know, hearing that makes me so jealous. That means he gets to see and enjoy your beautiful body every night.” She let out a small chuckle and shook her head. “He saw me like this every night, yes, but he never complimented me the way you do. He barely even touched me. You… are the first to truly admire me like this.” I cupped her face, looking into her eyes with intensity. “Is that really true?” She nodded, and I kissed her again, this time trailing down to her long, elegant neck—a place that stirred my deepest desires. Selene giggled softly and pulled away slightly. “By the way, why did you suddenly come here? Did something urgent happen? I can smell Dexton’s scent on you,” she said. The fact that she could still recognise Dexton’s scent made me a little jealous, even though it was normal. After all, she had been his mate, even if they were no longer together. “I just met with him to remind him about respect and boundaries.” I lifted Selene into my arms and sat on the bed with her on my lap. She let out a surprised squeal, then laughed. “Did you two fight after that?” she asked. She was still curious about our conversation, even though I had brought her onto my lap with completely different intentions. “Are you worried about him?” “No, Lucian. I stopped loving him the moment he threw me away for that omega. Why would I care about him? I just wanted to know if anything happened afterwards.” I immediately shook my head and smiled. Her quick answer was her way of reassuring me, making sure I didn’t misunderstand her question. Still, I couldn’t help but feel jealous that she even asked about him. The mere fact that she wanted to know made me wonder if she still had lingering feelings for him. But I couldn’t read her mind. “I believe you.” “Of course, you should. Because the moment he betrayed me, my feelings for him faded. And after he chose that omega, they completely disappeared.” I smiled and kissed her lips again. This time, I did it gently, and she responded, matching the rhythm of my kiss. My hand instinctively moved to her breast, squeezing it softly as a low growl escaped me. The thought of making love to her again consumed me. But this time, I wanted to hold back. I wanted to wait until she was ready to be marked as mine. For now, I just wanted to savour her lips, the softness of her mouth, and the way her skilled tongue played with mine. She knew how to tease, and she had become wilder since being with me. I didn’t know how she was with Dexton, but with me, she was bolder. Slowly, she lowered the strap of her nightgown, offering her breasts to me. I took them into my mouth, one after the other, sucking gently. “Ah…” That was the sound I wanted to hear. Just hearing it, I knew she was experiencing pleasure with me. I didn’t know why, but moments like this were intoxicating. Her scent, her touch, and how she responded to me were like a drug I never wanted to quit. I wanted to stay like this forever, leaving my scent all over her body to claim and protect her. “Stop,” she gasped, panting as she looked into my eyes. “If we don’t stop now, we’ll end up making love again.” I tucked her hair behind her ear, letting my fingers trail down her neck and her chest, and stopping at her breast. “So… have you decided when I can finally mark you, Selene?” I asked. She looked at me, her hand resting on my chest, tracing small circles. “Lucian, we’ve already talked about this. We literally discussed it this morning, remember?” I knew that. But I was impatient for the day to come. Once I marked her, she would truly be mine. “Can you wait just a little longer? I’m not going anywhere—I’ll always be with you.” Even though she reassured me, it still didn’t feel enough. Claiming her as my mate but not marking her left something missing inside me. “Don’t make me wait too long, Selene. I’m not very good at holding back.”
