The dinner went on silently, not much chit-chat, but once done, Krisha and Adish were sitting and talking with their daddy. All their questions were about the past, they kept on asking why he didn't visit them even once. He gave a lot of excuses but they were not happy or satisfied and, in the end, they asked Krisandra.
"Mummy, if daddy loved us he would have come and visited us, right?" Krisha asked her with a voice on the edge of crying.
Her eyes were welling up with tears which she was trying to hold. The same goes for Adish. He will follow what Krisha does even without knowing the reasons. Krisandra carried Krisha and placed her on her lap. Immediately, Adish, who was sitting on the carpet while playing, ran and sat on her other lap. Aditya was observing everything, he was quiet since he couldn't satisfy Krisha with his explanation.
"Krisha, mummy wants to ask you questions and you must think and answer, okay?" Krisha nodded.
"When Krisha and Adish asked mummy about daddy, what mummy said?"
"Hummm, mummy said daddy is going to work in another country." She replied.
"Where is the country?"
"Very very very far." She carried both her hands and showed. Aditya was watching how Krisandra handled the situation.
"Correct, how long it took daddy to go to that country?"
"Since we were in mummy's stomach."
"So if daddy wants to come back, how long will he take?"
"Very, very, very long too." She replied and showed a surprising facial reaction which said she was very cute.
"Now you know, Krisha, why daddy came after so long?" Adish asked her and Krisha nodded.
"Since daddy is here, you shouldn't be asking him these questions, right?"
"Daddy has worked hard and bought this house for you and Adish, don't you two like it?" Both nodded their heads.
"Daddy drives you two in the big car. Daddy went to work in a very far country and long enough to buy this car." Both nodded their heads again.
Krisha got down from Krisandra's lap and walked slowly to her father who was sitting on the opposite side of the sofa. She climbed up carefully and sat on his lap. She held his chin with her small fingers and kissed his cheek so sweetly.
"I am sorry daddy, I will not ask you anymore." Krisandra was watching her and was holding Adish tightly. She knew he would run and wanted to kiss him too. It was like a*****e telling the way she explained to kids and made them understand the situation so easily. Adithiya thought he really made the best choice of his life by choosing her for that night.
"I am sorry daddy, I will not ask you anymore." She sat slowly, sat on the carpet, and continued to play. Krisandra let go of Adish, he immediately ran to Aditya, kissed him, and sat with her sister to play. Aditya was speechless and Krisandra was watching her kids playing. She has really never been in this type of situation. Is Krisha throwing her tantrum at Aditya?
Adish is normal only, but why is Krisha so emotional about his daddy? All this while, she only asked her to show her daddy's picture every day and ask her the same question once in a while when he would come? Krisandra felt restless and guilty for what she had done to Krisha.
"Bedtime, mummy will put you two to bed, come."
They kept all the toys in the box and followed their mother. There are so many maids and helpers at home, but the kids still do what they need to do as Krisandra thought them. Aditya was proud of how Krisandra brought them up. How independent they are at this small age. Without him, they would live a happy life, which I am nothing for them. Aditya went to his room and waited for Krisandra in his easy chair.
"Daddy!!" Both Krisha and Adish ran to him but stopped exactly in front of him with a sudden break. Krisandra was standing at the door and watching them.
"We came to give you a good night kiss." Krisha and Adish took turns and kissed him.
"Good night daddy"
"Good night sweeties, daddy love you two!"
"We love you too daddy," and they left with Krisandra for their room.
"Good night sweeties," she hugged and kissed them. She switched off the lights and on their night lights before closing the door.
"They slept so fast?"
"No, I put them on the bed, they will do the talking first before sleeping, their routine. You want to change?" He nodded.
She washed him up and changed him into his nightdress, then she changed. It was a bit tiring for her to bathe and change him due to his height, but she didn't complain, plus she had to do it for another 6 months. Which bloody person does this? I hate them! She was frowning when she came out of the changing room.
"What happened?" He asked her when he saw her face.
"What happened?" She asked him questioningly.
"Your face was not happy."
"Is it," she checked in the mirror and her face was not satisfied with something.
"Nothing," she told him and helped him to lay on the bed. She lay beside him on the other side.
"You can sleep nearer, there is a lot of space here." She moved further in.
"Can I ask you one question?"
"Hummm!"
"Why did you tell the kids that I am working far away? If you wanted, you could have removed me from their lives, right?"
"Hummm, I know how it feels to have a father but can't have his love, plus you will find them or they might meet you at one point. It's just a matter of time. I don't want to be a bad mother or show you a bad father and I don't want them to know what happened between us either."
"Will you forgive me, Krisandra?"
