Chapter 4 - Immediate Resignation

"I need your urine for the test,” she gave her a container and a nurse followed her. A few drops of her urine were dropped into a machine and a few minutes later a report was printed out from the machine. There wasn’t a smile on the doctor’s face.

"I am sorry but you are pregnant and it’s about 3 weeks,” the doctor confirmed her pregnancy. She started to cry uncontrollably while walking alone in the middle of the night.

"Why me? Why me?” She was screaming in the middle of the night. The nearby dogs started to bark, which gave a frightening emotion.

She called a cab and went back home silently.

She couldn’t sleep so she took out the same notebook and her savings account. She read what she had written earlier.

"First I am very sure he would have to wear a condom before he did that to me, so no pregnancy. Huh! That itself is a big relief.

Second, if I didn't tell anyone about this, nobody would know, right? She smiled a little!

Third, I have already decided not to get married to anyone, so this matter will not have any effect either. Hmmm! Then why do I cry so much when this matter actually doesn't affect me in any way?”

Now everything has become upside down. What is she going to do with her life?

She checked her savings and she had very good savings which she could leave without the job for two to three years easily if she was alone but now.

She couldn’t keep it to herself anymore, so she video called her bestie, Kayla, in the middle of the night and she told her what had happened together about her pregnancy while crying.

"That bastaxx how he dares to treat you like this, he doesn’t have balls I guess!” Kayla started to make noise and she was silent for a while thinking about something that came to her mind.

"Krissy, please answer my question honestly, okay?”

"Hummm, yes I will”

"Do you want the baby?” She didn’t reply, she was keeping silent for a while and Kayla was waiting for her reply.

"Kay, I really don’t know.”

"Let me elaborate on the situation for you so you can think clearly.”

"Okay” and she was nodding her head while talking on the phone.

"First you have decided you are not going to marry, right, so why don’t you keep this baby as your companion in your old age? You can abort if you want, but what rights do you have to do that? You are a strong karma believer, so I don’t think you will do such a thing.”

"Kay, I cannot be here if I want to keep this child.”

"Who asked you to stay there? I will ask Mark to get you a job and you can stay with us here and I am sure nobody will know.”

"Can I stay separately?”

"Can but I will stay with you then.”

"Hmmm Kay is not fair to Mark, you have just married him a year ago.”

"Yes and he is matured enough to understand your situation. I will fly to your place by this week, resign from your job and start packing.”

"Okay, I will settle my work matters first. You come after a week because I am sure JB will jump and will not let me go easily without a proper reason.”

"Just say you are going to your hometown and your dad is not well.”

"Kay, how about my family then? What to tell them?”

"Oh yes, what to tell them?” Mark whispered something from behind.

"Mark said just tell them you have been transferred to here, a new branch.”

"Yes, that is a very good idea."

Krisandra went in for a half-day, prepared her resignation letter, and went to meet JB with her letter. She knocked on the door and he signaled her to enter while engaging in the phone. She was listening to his conversation while waiting.

“Sure, thank you. I will arrange for my project and marketing director to meet with your team before signing the project. Thank you so much, David.” Krisandra's face was pale the moment she heard David’s name.

It was the bastraxx who drugged her and took her to the room for Aditya.

In a second, everything that happened that night came to her in flashes. His handsome face which was near to her, his naked body covering hers, his hands all over her body, his mouth was down there and the way he entered her.

‘Yes Krissy, I wanted to meet you ”JB was very excited and she tried to smile at him.

“Why JB?” her voice was shaking a little.

“Hey, are you okay? Why did you go to the clinic last night? I was so sleepy that I couldn’t reply to you. I am sorry."

“Food poison,” she simply said, something which came to her at that time.

“Are you okay now? Why didn't you stay at home and rest?”

“I am okay JB. I have something important to discuss with you.”

“Yes, me too, and thank you so much for managing to get the project for us.”

“What project?”

“We are signing up for a ten-year project worth ten billion with Aditya Corporation.

Mr. Aditya was very happy with your service, it seems so he has approved the project for us.”

That bastaxx took my virginity, made me pregnant, and now giving the project to the company.

Did he think I went there to give myself for this project, bastaxx, how dare he make his own decision?

“JB, take this and I will be clearing everything by next week.” She gave him the letter.

“What is this?”

“My resignation letter”

“What? Why?” he asked in an angry and shocking tone.

“You know my dad had a stroke and he is not recovering well. My mom is getting old too, so she can’t take care of him anymore, so I am going to take care of him. He is quite serious and has been admitted to the hospital now. Since the company has made a big fortune because of me, please let me go earlier, can I?”

“Next week we are signing the project. Why not we make you a farewell dinner together?” JB suggested.

“I am not in the situation to celebrate farewell, please understand.” She was showing him her most pitiful face.

“Hmmm, okay, no salary deduction and all leave will be paid. I will get a replacement immediately and, since, because of you, we have got this project, I will be paying you the sales commission upon signing the project okay, as usual, 10% plus 1% additional this time, okay!” She widened her eyes in shock, excited as well. She will be a rich woman in a week's time!!

She spontaneously put her hand on her stomach and thought my baby star was shining, I guess.

“You can treat your father in a private hospital, okay?” She nodded her head, in her mind, she thought she would not spend a penny on him.

“Thank you so much JB, I will never forget this.”

“It was your hard work; you talked to him and closed the deal, that’s why I want you to be here until next week, so you will still be the company staff as per the company rules.” She simply nodded her head for whatever JB said and only she knew what she paid for it.

“But how, Krissy,how did you manage to even go to near him?”

“Oh, David was the one who approached me for the talk.” That bastarxx!!

“Hmmm, you have always been my lucky charm. I know you will be a rich woman. Visit us whenever you are free, okay?” She nodded her head.

The company's human resources team managed to find a replacement for Krisandra. The handover was done properly and earlier than expected, so she was free the following day.

Kayla has already flown from her place to help with packing and to take her back. It was the last day for Krisandra and today the signing of documents for ten billion projects will be done too.

The office was decorated nicely, high-class food catering was booked and all the news reporters were there as well. Krisandra was confused about why they had to make it such a big matter.

When she scanned her access card to enter the office, she saw Aditya Varman was sitting on a mini stage beside JB while her working colleague was cheering her name and clapped hands for her.

Little had she expected he would be there and his eyes were looking at her as though he was going to swallow her life. His eye contact made her feel chilled and scared. The entire incident came back as flashes to her.

She felt she was floating and she was aware that she was going to pass out, so she hugged Sheila who was standing a few steps ahead of her. Krisandra’s body slipped away from Sheila’s hand but all her colleagues managed to catch hold of her.

Aditya Varman ran immediately and jumped from the stage. He carried her to the company sickbay and he felt the same electric spark in his heart. The in-house nurse checked Krissy’s blood pressure and it was low, plus her stomach was empty.

“JB, there is nothing to be worried about, she doesn’t have any food yet, so her pressure is low. I will take care of her. You all please proceed. Once she recovers, I will send her there.” JB nodded and everyone left the stage except for Aditya.

“Mr. Aditya, let’s go and sign the documentation.” He looked at her pale face for a while and he nodded his head while he followed JB.

“Does she always pass out like this?” Aditya cannot stop himself from asking JB.Can't she have a proper meal before she comes to work? How if she passed out outside? Who will take care of her? Why am I so concerned about her? She is just another woman who slept for money with me!!

“No, never, this is the first time. She is a very homely and hardworking girl,” JB explained, Aditya nodded his head.

The event went on very well and signing documentation was done via live telecast while Krissy was resting in the sick bay. JB has credited her commission as he promised into her account with a notification message.

Krissy met JB, then her other friends to wish her goodbye and left the office as a bloody rich woman. She put her hand on her tummy and smiled happily. She and Kayla went to the bank to settle her hometown's house debt.

Then she opened a few fixed deposit accounts in different banks, she issued a bank draft to withdraw cash once she went to Kayla’s place. The next morning they flew to Kayla’s place.
