“YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE here,” Julie said quietly to Victor as she waited for her parents inside the cramped security office.
“I’m not going to leave you,” he said cheerily. “I think we took a lot of good steps today. First date, first kiss, first handjob, and now I’m getting to meet your parents. We’ve come a long way in a couple of hours.”
Julie laughed, feeling herself truly exhale for the first time that night. She realized how easily she could get worked up, either from excitement or stress. Victor had an air of calm about him that kept her level. Even still, she worried his cool attitude wasn’t going to make their meeting with her parents any easier. As the thought passed through her Victor put a hand over hers.
“I shouldn’t have done this,” Julie shook her head.
“I enjoyed it.”
