Darlene's Point of View
"Good morning ma'am." The maid greeted me when I enter the dinning room.
"Good morning Anna!" I replied and smiled to her. Then, I sit down and eat my breakfast.
It's been a month since I left my old home. Now, I already owned a new Mansion, hotel and beach resort. Ofcourse, I'm not a thief and I didn't rob anyone. I win millions everynight in different casino and that's how easy to get money.
Gambling is not illegal nor bad thing to do. It will only be bad if you lose haha. Besides, I'm contented with what I have now. The rest of the money, I'm giving it to those people I meet on streets and some orphanage. Wether the money I won in gambling came from hardworks or dirty works, what matter is that it ended up to the hands of those who are needy and worthy.
If you are given a choice, would you try hard to search for the owners of those dirty money, turn over it to the unsure corrupt or not officials or give it directly to the poor and needy? As an immortal, I don't care about the rules of this world anymore.
I'm living now in a subdivision just near to my beach resort. With the help of the old staffs in the resort, I easily know how to manage it. Though I dreamed to become a surgeon when I was young, I guess not for now. Being a surgeon is just a dream for a human, not for an immortal like me.
I wanted to be free now and do whatever I want. I don't care if I will hurt anyone as long as what I'm doing is right in my sight.
"Ma'am Claire, someone is looking for you." Anna told me while I'm sitting in the sofa and scrolling on my f*******:.
"Who?" I asked while still scrolling. "That smell." I murmured.
"She said that you are her sister ma'am." Anna replied.
"As I guessed. Just tell her I'm not in the mood to receive any visitor." I said to Anna.
"Yes ma'am!" Anna replied and go back to the gate.
A few moments later.
"Ma'am, she told me to tell you that she will wait outside until you are in the mood to talk to her." Anna said.
"Then, let her wait until she's tired and go away. Don't mind her." I said to Anna.
"If you don't mind my question ma'am, is she really your sister?" Anna asked.
Anna Morales is just 15 years old. She is my one and only maid in this big Mansion. She is kind and very hard working. Well, I just get her from the streets. I remember the first time I saw her. She is very stinky and looking for some food in the garbage can. Then, she found a bread and happily bite on it. Unluckily, a group of beggars grab her food and even dared to beat her. She's so pityful and I can't stop myself from helping her.
"Just don't get involve on us. OK?" I replied to Anna.
"I'm sorry ma'am." Anna said.
"It's alright. Have you eaten already?" I asked her.
"The refrigerator is full of food ma'am. See, I'm already getting fat because of eating." Anna replied.
"That is better because you are so thin when I first saw you. Just eat whenever you are hungry but don't forget to maintain the cleanliness here. Alright?" I said.
"Yes ma'am. You are so kind to me and all I can pay to your kindness is to work in this house. Thank you so much for changing my life." Anna said.
"You're welcome. Just tell me if you need anything else." I replied.
"I have nothing to ask anymore ma'am. I'm already happy to serve you and being treated as a human." Anna said.
"By the way, here's your salary for this month." I said and give her ten thousand pesos.
"No ma'am! I can't receive it." Anna replied.
"You are working here. You must get this or else, I will sulk on you." I said.
"Mhmm. OK! I will keep it ma'am. Thank you so much." Anna said.
"Good. One more thing, don't call me Ma'am. Just call me, Claire." I said. By the way, my full name is Darlene Claire May De Leon.
"But." Anna said.
"No more buts." I replied.
"Yes ma. I mean, Claire." Anna said
"Very good." I replied.
"I will go now Claire. Excuse me!" Anna said and I just smiled at her.
Being rich is great, you can do a lot of things in world. I still have a lot of plans to make this world a better one. It is just the start.
"You even made that little girl a maid. Isn't she still in a minor age? It's a crime and you can be imprisoned because of it." A girls voice said from my back.
"Entering someone's private property without permission is unlawful too. You can be imprisoned because of it even you're a detective." I replied without looking back.
Then, Joylene go in front of me.
"I'm so sorry. I just want to talk to you. Please!" She said.
"Well, we have nothing to talk about." I replied.
"I already broke up with Frederick, please forgive me now. Please." Joylene said.
"I don't care. That is your life, not mine." I coldly replied.
"Can we be just friends and sisters again? I promised to do everything you want, just forgive me." Joylene seriously said.
"I don't have any friends nor sister anymore. They already died at the day they choose others over me." I replied without showing any emotions.
"I'm sorry. I just realized that I didn't love Frederick that much. If only I know this earlier, I maybe didn't choose my own happiness over your's. Maybe, maybe I never been cheated by that bullshit guy." Joylene said and cried in front of me.
I feel sorry for her but it's just good that they already broke up. Whatever Joylene will tell me now, I won't care for it anymore. She is strong and I don't have to worry even she's alone. Besides, we are immortal.
"I'm very happy in my new life now, don't you see? It's great to become rich and free than being under your protection." I said.
"Just forgive me please, I will do everything just for you to forgive me. I want my sister back, please." Joylene plead, cried and kneeled in front of me.
"Get up. I already forgive you but it's not guaranteed that I will become your sister again." I said. "You want me not to get angry with you anymore? Don't ever get closer to me, don't ever show your self to me and don't ever enter my life again. If ever our way will cross again one day, treat me as a stranger." I said and stand up. Joylene stand up too.
"If that will make you happy, I will never bother you again." Joylene replied. "I will miss you. Please take care of your self." Joylene said and walk away without looking back.
As the main door closed, my tears flows like a running water. I don't want to drive her away but I really can't stop myself from doing it. I'm still very disappointed with her and can't accept everything that happened to us.
Joylene never made any mistake. She just wanted to become happy and thought that it is being with Frederick. She have the right to choose Frederick but it really hurt me. I am the one who is hurt the most because my beloved sister and most beloved man in this world, disappeared at the same time.
It is just good that they already separated. It is better to make my own pathway too and not just follow Joylene. I'm old enough to make a life that I wanted for myself. I'm completely different now.
Just wait and see how will I change this world.
