If Only You Didn't Come Into Our Lives

Darlene's Point of View

"Why are you here?" I asked Frederick.

"I've been here before you came. I'm just ashamed to get closer to you because of what I did to your sister. But I didn't cheated her, I can explain," Frederick replied.

"I made mistakes too," I said and hug Frederick.

"I'm so sorry," Frederick said in a very sad voice. I know he is just trying to stop his tears.

"It's all my fault. If only I didn't reject her apology lately. If only I accept her in my home and make peace with her. If only I...." I said while crying on Frederick's shoulder.

"Stop it! Don't blame yourself. I have a lot of mistakes too and I know that I cause all the pain you and Joylene have. I am the reason why all of this happened," Frederick said and I just cried when I heard it.

"I can't forgive myself if something wrong happened to you too. You are so wet, let's go to my car now," Frederick said and I just nodded.

"Wait!" Frederick said and take off his jacket. Then, he give it to me.

"Thank you," I said and then we go to his car. I remember when I and Frederick are still bestfriends. Those memories are full of care and happiness.

"Where is your new house? I will send you home," Frederick asked.

"I have a car and I will go home later. Just go home first if you want," I said.

"But you are so wet. I can't leave you here," Frederick replied.

Then, I give back his jacket.

"If only you didn't come into our lives, I and my sister won't become enemies. Maybe, my sister is still here," I said with both sadness and anger to Frederick.

"I know! I'm so sorry," Frederick replied and his tears slowly fall.

"I hate myself for being selfish and letting this happen. If only you didn't come into our lives, this will never happened," I angrily said and run into my car.

"Darlene!" I heard that Frederick shouted my name.

I drive home and found Anna sleeping on the couch in the living room. I take a bath and changed my cloth. Then, I go back to Anna.

"This little girl. Maybe she tried to wait for me," I murmured and carry her into her room. I put her to bed and put a blanket to cover her.

I remember everytime I fall asleep in the living room or in the table too when I was in college. I have a lot of things to do, projects and preparation for exam that's why I fall asleep without going to my bed sometimes. And everytime I wake up, I already have blanket or I'm already in my room.

Then, I go to my room and lie on my bed. I can't stop thinking of my regrets and everything about me and my sister.

I wonder how Joylene made to work and study without sleeping sometimes. Well, maybe she have the ability to resist sleepiness because I never seen her feeling sleepy or weak. I know that we have different powers but I don't know what's her specific power. All I know is that we both can fly, move fast and stronger than any human.

My sister sacrifice everything for me when our parents died. We both promise to help and protect each other but she's the only one who tried to fulfill it. I never made any single effort to make her happy. She only want Frederick but I never let her have her happiness. I'm so selfish. If only I can bring her back to life, I will make everything to make her happy.

A few more thoughts and everything went black.

I wake up late in this morning, it's almost 11 at noon.

I remember everything and can't stop my tears to flow again. It's so sad to lose a sister whom you live together since young.

One thing flash into my mind, did she really died? We are immortals and we have superpowers, did she really die in the fire? Why didn't she use her powers to get out? Did she just let the fire burn her body? No, she ask for help and I heard it in the live videos. Why did she ask for help? She is strong and if something fell off into her, I'm sure that she can push it away and get out of the house.

"Did anyone intentionally caused the fire and killed her?" I murmured this question.

"What did you say?" Anna asked me and I was so shock of it that she's already here. I didn't notice that she already get inside my room lately.

"Anna, next time please knock at the door and don't shock me," I said while holding my chest.

"I'm sorry Claire but I already knocked at the door and greeted you a good noon," Anna replied.

"Maybe I'm just thinking a lot and didn't hear anything," I said.

"I bring you some breakfast, I know you are already hungry," Anna said.

"I don't want to eat," I said and hug my pillow.

"You have to eat no matter what happened to your sister," Anna replied.

"I'm not hungry, Ok? Just leave the food there," I said.

"Your sister is an Ex Detective? She's all the content of the news," Anna said and it made me think.

"Ex Detective? What do you mean?" I asked.

"The girl who came here yesterday, she's an Ex Detective. It is said that she resigned just a few days ago," Anna replied.

"She resigned? Why?" I curiously asked.

"Just watch the news, I can't understand the whole story too," Anna replied.

I forgot that Anna didn't have the chance to study in schools. Yet, she is a fast learner and very clever.

"Tsss. Fine! Can you please give me my cellphone?" I asked Anna.

"Here!" Anna get the phone from the table and give it to me.

"Thanks Anna," I said.

"Claire, I have something to say and please don't be angry," Anna said.

"What?" I asked.

"Hahaha!" Anna laughed. "You look so ugly." Anna said and run out of the room.

I am so shock with what Anna said and maybe she's afraid that I will beat her that's why she run away.

I look at my face on my cellphone and found out a very haggard face and big eyebags.

"Anna!" I shouted in anger. That little girl made me a laughing stuff..

Did she turn to ashes, dust, or just disappeared? Why did her body isn't found? What exactly happened to immortal's body when we died? We are f*******n to enter Heavens and Hell, did my sister reincarnated now?
