Frederick's Point of View
"Yeah, right," I replied. "I'm so sorry for your sister's loss. I'm sorry for everything," Frederick said.
"I thought you didn't fight. Why are you sorry? Are you the one who killed her sister?" Fire Queen asked.
"No!" I immediately replied. "It's just." I wanted to explain, but Darlene stopped me.
"You don't have to say sorry. Besides, you lost a girlfriend too," Darlene said, but I don't know if she meant it.
Did she really accept the fact and don't have hatred on me anymore?
"It's me who did something wrong. If I hadn't become selfish and didn't hate you both for loving each other, maybe she'd still be alive until now," Darlene said.
"Do you need some privacy?" Fire Queen asked. "I guess you have a lot of things to talk about and settle," she said.
"No need," Darlene replied. "Past is past. Let's not discuss it anymore," she said.
I'm relieved now. I felt like a needle was pulled out of my heart knowing that she was not angry with me anymore. Joylene may be resting in peace now. She is possibly happy now that her sister has grown up and become understanding.
"Excuse me sir, ma'am. Your orders are here," the waitress said and put the tray of food on the table. Another two waitresses put a lot of food on the table too. "Here's the change and receipt sir," the waitress said while handing me a paper and change.
"Thanks," I said and she went away. She looks so ashamed, maybe because of what has happened lately.
"I'm very happy to see you again. Let's celebrate this tonight," I said and raised a glass of juice. "Cheers?"
"Cheers!" Fire Queen and Darlene said and we hit each other's glasses.
We sipped a little and started to eat dinner.
"So, how are you now?" I asked Darlene.
"I'm very fine, as you can see," she replied. "How about you?" Darlene asked.
"I'm fine too," I replied.
"I feel really out of place," Fire Queen murmured and I just chuckled.
"What were you doing at the Busko g**g main hideout last night?" I curiously asked Darlene.
"When did you become a Black Dragon?" Darlene asked me back without answering my question.
"Are you a Mafia or a Gangster?" I asked her back.
"Are you a criminal or just trying to have fun and mingle with bad people?" Darlene asked me too.
"Why did you shoot Leon even if he was already unconscious?" I asked her.
"Why are you trying to get closer to Leon?" Darlene asked back.
"Enough!" Fire Queen stopped us. "You two are full of questions for each other, but no one is answering," she said. "Why don't you punch and kick each other if you both have some kept hatred? Or why don't you talk peacefully and answer one another's questions to make it clear for both sides?" she asked and stood up. "You need a private talk. Thanks for the dinner," she said and immediately walked away.
I and Darlene looked at each other. We eat the food and drink, look at each other sometimes, but no one speaks.
"I'm very sorry for what happened in the past," I broke the silence.
"Past is past, no need to discuss. We can not bring it back anymore," Darlene replied.
"I'm sorry. Then, let's just talk about the present and the future," I said and she just looked at me.
I started to ask her again what I had already asked lately. She answered me and told me everything. I told her what happened to me too in the past year and how I became the Black Dragon.
"Can we be friends again?" I sincerely asked Darlene.
"I have already moved on, why not?" she replied and gave me a sweet smile.
"Thank you so much," I happily said.
"By the way, this food was so delicious. Anna would love to eat this. She often ordered food here online," Darlene said. "Can I take some of this untouched food home?" she asked.
"Oh, sure," I replied and we let the waitress pack it.
It's too much and my money would be a waste if we left it here.
"If you want, I'll send you home?" I asked Darlene while we were about to go out of the restaurant.
"No need, I have a car too," she replied.
"Alright, just let me carry this pack of food for you and send you to your car," I offered.
"Thanks," she replied. "Let's go," she said and she go first. I followed her until we reached the parking lot. Darlene took the package from me and put it beside the driver's seat of her car.
"Thank you very much. If you need anything else that you think I might be able to help with, just call me here," she said while handing a calling card to me.
I read the calling card. "Director of Blanca Hotel and Beach Resort?" I read in a questioning tone.
Darlene smiled. "I'll go now. Bye," she said and got into her car.
She closed the door and I waved at her. "Bye!" I said and her car started to run.
I looked at the calling card again and put it in my wallet. Where did she get the money to buy this beach resort? I thought they weren't very rich and it was just a year ago when Joylene died.
Joylene is the one who worked and can not even save money because of Darlene's financial needs in her medical course. She really changed a lot, but I'm not sure that she cannot do bad things just for money.
I went to my car and drove home while having a lot of thoughts about Darlene. Well, she's the reason why I wanted to meet up with Fire Queen, but I didn't expect that I would meet her in person. We both changed a lot in just a single year.
The innocent Frederick and Darlene, who are so stubborn and reckless when it comes to love, have now become directors of our different companies. She has a Blanca Hotel and Beach Resort while I have Keller's Shoes and Apparel Company. Time really runs so fast and changes are constant.
What's more, I'm a Mafia King now and she's the leader of a secret organization that catches criminals. Just one wrong move as a Mafia and she will be my enemy. Well, my mission is to kill notorious criminals too, like Darlene. This is the mission that my mother started, but I have to start from nothing again.
The gangs under my mother were already killed by Leon. Now he is missing and even if he becomes lame, he still has a lot of money and connections to hunt down his enemies who dragged him down. I'm sure that I will be the primary suspect of Leon because he is an enemy of my mother. I'm just wondering where Leon is now and who helped him?
