Wolves don't get fairytales

*Leonardo POV*

    It took us a day and a half to track her down, she's gotten far away from her old pack. I felt proud of her for running away, she deserved better, and I would give her better. She would be my queen, she would get whatever she wanted. 

    The cave we trace her scent to is small, but it would be perfect to hide in. There's a stream, and in my wolf form I can see the discarded fish bones. Good, she's eating.

    I change back into a human form, and my party changes with me. I glanced back at them and nodded for them to scan the area. 

'She's here Leo, her scent doesn't branch from here.' Forrest is walking the perimeter.

'I'll try to make contact.' I walked closer to the cave mouth, pausing only when my foot hit a freshly doused fire. Good, good. That's a great sign.

    "Cassandra?" I was nervous, but so relieved. "Are you in there? Cassandra, we mean you no harm. We'll stay out here, and wait until you're ready to come meet us."

    I step back, taking a deep breath. Sasha walks over to me and offers me a shirt and some shorts.

    "Thanks Sasha…" I sigh and put the clothes on, we don't want to startle her by being naked. Though, in wolf culture it should be something to be used to.

    I sit with them, and Rolland begins to make a fire. My inner circle. My second in command, my beta, Forrest, my third, Sasha, Rolland and Enzo are my commander's. 

    "Our Luna is in there, and she's probably not used to affection.. by the vibes I got off those assholes in the Waya Yona pack, she's been abused her whole life. She probably feels like no one could love her." I rubbed my face, growling softly.

    "Don't worry Leo, once we get her to her true home, with you, and she meets the pack, everything will be great. She'll fit right in, we'll make sure she's happy." Sasha smiled at me, and I couldn't help but weakly smile back.

    "She's our future Luna, I am extremely excited to meet her." Enzo bounced a bit- he was the youngest, and the most bubbly. But under that bubbly exterior was a ruthless fighter.

    I chuckled and glanced back into the cave, where my mate was hopefully sleeping or thinking over everything.

    "Let's try to get some rest. I'll take the first watch, just to make sure she doesn't try to sneak away in the night." Forrest spoke softly, smiling at me.

    I nod in agreement, laying back and yawning. I decided to send out a prayer to the Moon Goddess as I relaxed, thanking her for providing the both of us with this chance to be happy.

    And as I fell asleep, a caught a whiff of her scent, causing me to smile.

    I woke as the sun came up, groaning and stretching slowly. "f**k, I hate sleeping on the ground." I sat up, watching the others wake. It was Sasha's turn to keep watch and she was obviously holding in a laugh.

    "Morning everyone!" Sasha laughed finally, smiling. Forrest groaned and reached over, shoving her off the rock she was sitting on.

    "Shut up you morning person" Forrest growled playfully as he sat up, nipping at Sasha playfully. It made me smile, watching them interact made me want my own sibling. 

    Sasha grabbed Forrest, grinding her knuckles into his skull "just because you wish you were me doesn't mean you get to be mean you twerp!" 

    I shook my head, watching them go back and forth for a while before Rolland came back.

    "Who wants fish for breakfast!" Rolland grinned and sat with us, starting to cook the fish for us.  Their hunger made Sasha and Forrest relax and part. 

    We all ate the fish in silence, and once we were done,, i finally spoke. "How long do you think it'll take her to come out..?" I glanced up and I caught Sasha staring into the cave with a smile. Turning quickly I looked into the cave.

    "Our princess is awake." She spoke softly, smiling.

    I stood, walking towards the cave again before I spoke.

    "Cassandra, please come out. We'd all love to meet you, we won't hurt you. I swear on the Moon Goddess."

    Biting my lip, I hear her begin to move. She was coming out, thank Goddess. 

    When the light hit her face, my breath was taken away. Her skin was a beautiful shade of caramel, and her hair was a gorgeous shade of chestnut. Goddess I wanted her. I needed her.

"Mate. Mate! MATE! MATE!!" Janus was screaming inside my head, I imagined he was drooling.

    I saw her Hesitate, and I gave her a smile, trying to give her encouragement.

    Then her feet were moving, and my heart squeezed. She looked frail, yet her frame was strong. 

    As soon as she was close enough I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close to my chest. Goddess her smell was intoxicating. 

    I felt hot tears against my chest, and I put my hand on her head, and picked her up. God she was so light. 

    "I've found you.. you're safe now, no one will hurt you ever again…" My perfect mate, she was so perfect. "My mate. My beautiful mate."

    She wrapped her arms tightly around me, and I felt her legs hook against my hips.

    "Let's take her home guys." I turned towards them, and began to walk, holding Cassandra up and close as she cried. I understood. "...just let it out, it's alright.' I kissed her temple. I mind linked Garrett, sending him our location and asked him to drive us. There was no way I was making her run in her condition. Thankfully, we weren't actually that far from our borders.

    It didn't take long for Garrett to arrive, and by then Cassandra had fallen asleep from her crying. Sasha had searched the cave and got all of Cassandra's belongings. 

    "Hey boss! Oooh is that her?" Garret grinned "she's beautiful!"

    I growled at him "shush. She's sleeping. Open the door, she needs rest." 

    "Sorry sorry." Garrett nodded and opened the door for me, and I slowly got her in the back, tucking a blanket over her. I smiled as she curled up. We were taking her home, finally. Our Luna was coming home.
