"Oh no. It's just... You look so... Haggard." Ezana managed to say after scrambling for the right words.
"Oh... Don't be a wuss," Erasmus grumbled, and shut the door behind him. Ezana went back to his room, and picked up his backpack.
All the way to school, Ezana kept looking around nervously. However, there wasn't so much time to look around as Erasmus stopped the car.
Ezana looked at the tall buildings of the school, and drew in a sharp breath.
He got out of the car, and walked towards the school.
He entered through the front door, and shut it behind him. The hallway was bustling with students, and lovers pecking themselves.
Bullies cornering their preys, and stupid girls applying makeup.
"Ahh.... So this is a teenager's prison, huh?" He muttered to himself as he walked to the locker he was familiar with.
"I thought I made it clear to you, nerd," a cold, loud, and disgusting voice rang behind him.
Ezana turned around to see a really tall boy. Not that he was really tall; little did Ezana know, he was just too short.
In every world, there's always a bad person. Ezana sighs at the thought, and looked at the boy who was like six heads taller than he was.
That was how all of them were actually, but Ezana felt shorter because he was intimidated by their presence. He loved being alone, and found pleasure in loneliness.
He wasn't going to let some fool take advantage of his height. So, he tried escaping, but the jerk tightened his grip on poor Ezana's hands.
Ezana wanted to give up, cuz his hands hurt like hell. But, he wasn't hopeless. He raised his knee, and delivered a powerful kick to the other boy's groin.
The boy gripped his poor thing, and fell to the ground panting like he'd just ran a marathon.
"I'm going to kill you, Manchester," he spat angrily.
Ezana just rolled his eyes at him, and put his books in the locker. He turned to face the groaning mess on the floor, and he felt like he'd archived a trophy.
"Serves you right," he said before turning around, and walking away.
He got to his first class. History. Oh how he hated it. He looked at the teacher who was painstakingly explaining how the World War II started.
He became so bored, he fell asleep.
Minutes after he fell asleep, a loud sound resounded in his ears. It sounded like someone was hitting a bell in his head.
He became so annoyed he almost snapped, but seeing the handsome young man, he became furious.
"What?!" He said as he sized up the stranger with his eyes.
"You're not supposed to sleep in a class," the stranger deadpanned, and Ezana looked into his sea blue eyes. His eyes reminded him about a particular someone.
This same pair of sea blue eyes stared deep at him, and he stared back. Hatred suddenly took over Ezana's eyes, and a red color flashed in his eyes.
The stranger grew intimidated, and muttered a 'sorry' under his breath. The stranger plopped his butt onto a chair beside Ezana.
All through the lesson, the stranger kept gaping at Ezana, and Ezana couldn't care less.
Hours passed, and soon the bell rang, signalling the end of school. He picked up his things, and made his way out of the school.
When he came out, he was able to breathe again, and he felt a strange relief wash over him.
"Hi!" A voice boomed behind him, and he turned around to see a boy who was as short as he was.
_Ha.... finally found someone my size._
He thought to himself._
___
"H- h- h- Hi?" He replied although a bit awkwardly.
"This might sound quite awkward----" the boy mutters something under his breath, and then he continues. "You seem like someone who loves studies. Perhaps we can hangout together after school?"
Ezana blinks uncontrollably, and finally regains his composure. He shakes his head, and a big grin appears on his face.
"You must be Lucas," Ezana said.
The stranger named Lucas grinned. He was actually quite handsome. He had short brown hair, and deep black eyes. Round face, and thin lips. He had quite a young face, but Ezana knew his youthful face was just a mask. He was actually older than his face.
"How'd you know?" Lucas asked.
Ezana grinned like the Cheshire cat in Alice in wonderland. "You must be going to Larisa's."
Lucas grinned, and said more than cheerfully. "I work there, you know?"
"Come, I'll walk you there," Ezana said, and started to walk away. Lucas followed suit, and soon they were walking with the same pace.
"I don't know your name. Mind sharing it?" Lucas asked.
"I'm Ezana. But, you shouldn't tell anyone, though," Ezana said, and dipped his hands into his pockets.
"Why's that?"
Ezana shrugged helplessly, and walked on.
"Lucas," he called.
"I'm all ears Ez," Lucas replied.
"Ez?" Ezana asked. That part wouldn't miss his ears.
"It's a great nickname, ain't it?" Lucas said.
Ezana hummed, and scoffed before looking at Lucas.
"You're quite disturbed," Ezana said after a few beats of silence.
"I was just thinking about my new co worker. His name's Axel. I really am fed up about him. He thinks he's so great cuz he's taller than me, and has bigger build," Lucas scoffs, and rolls his eyes.
"Then you can just teach him a lesson. I'd like to help you, but my control is limited. Perhaps, I'll force my way with Larisa, and work there too," Ezana said as he gazed at the clear blue skies.
It was just three minutes past five o'clock when they got to Larisa's, and boy this place was bustling. The bakery was quite big, and words were written in big bold letters on the front wall of the bakery.
LARISA'S PERFECTION
Yeah the name was quite unique. Although, it wasn't Larisa herself who baked, she still named it her perfection, ha, she's quite selfish.
Lucas walked in, and was greeted with the warm smell of chocolate cake. But, all his happiness vanished when he heard a snicker behind him, and peanut sauce dropped on his face.
O God!!
Lucas' head was starting to swirl. His face was getting redder, and he was huffing and puffing.
"God...! Axel!" Lucas called angrily. The other buy had poured peanut sauce on Lucas' head. Ezana suddenly popped in, and looked at both Alger, and Lucas.
"What is going on here. And, when I mean here, I mean HEEERRRE." He points at both Lucas, and Axel.
"He started it!" Lucas, and Axel both answer in unison. They glared at each other like they were born enemies. If eyes could kill, both would have been dead.
"You both fools...." A stern voice rang behind them, and they turned around to see.....
