Asena Pain… excruciating pain radiating through my whole body. I open my eyes and take a deep breath, trying to subdue the throbbing. Where am I? I scan the room around me but whimper as soon as I turn my head. The ache in my neck is sharp. He bit me! I sit up, my hand covering the bite on my neck. He marked me! A thunderclap headache knocks the air out of my lungs. I roll my lips in to muffle the whimpers and rub my temples, easing the burning ache. The yelling around me is not helping… Is it around me though? My eyes dart around, and I am relieved to see that I am alone. I am also relieved that I am not in some prison cell, but back in my room in the cottage. A few minutes later, the pain finally subdues. I carefully stand up and concentrate on the screams. “… unacceptable!”
