I storm out of that court, fuming. These idiots think they can use the prison, Jess and Bianca to threaten me. Stupid Zake fell for it.
Jess, Bianca, Lebo and Lucy catch up with me near their mansion.
“Zake did what he could in there, Efa. The council is obviously backing Alpha Benjamin,” Princess Lebo tries to justify her brother’s actions.
I am too angry to respond to her. I head out to the forest. I need time away from here.
I stop when I realise that they are following me.
“I need time alone.”
Jess nods. She knows me, but Princess Lebo won’t let me. She throws herself in my arms and holds tight.
“Efa, please don’t go.”
I don’t know why her every emotion affect me like this. I feel sad when she is and I melt when she is happy. Now I feel terrible for making her worry.
