‘Oi, wake up!’
I startled as someone was screaming next to me and I felt a kick in my leg. When I opened my eyes I saw that I was in a dirty room that looked like some medieval torture chamber and when I saw the bars it truly felt like it.
I looked around and there were more cells with different people in, including Dougie who was looking at me with widened eyes. The guy who kicked me suddenly stood in front fo me and dragged me to my feet by my neck.
‘How could you be so stupid?’ he screamed at me. ‘Do you realise that you messed up everything?’
‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ i said in a panic trying to claw his hands away from neck where he was leaving a mark.
‘Tonight was a mission.’ Dougie declared from the next cell over. ‘I didn’t know Amy, I’m sorry.’
Cameron dropped me to the ground and walked away from me when there was a creak from the door above opening. A group of men came down the stairs and straight to the cell i was in with Cameron.
‘Take her.’ one of them ordered.
Cameron raced over to stand in front of me but there was nothing he could do without a weapon and was beaten to the ground. Rough hands grabbed me and forced me forward and back upstairs into the brightness of the foyer where red stained the ground. I gasped at the sight of Ingrid battered and bruised and for a mere second her eyes widened at the sight of me before they calmed down again.
‘Talk or we’ll kill her.’ A man in a suit threatened.
Ingrid looked at him with a mocking smile and said. ‘You'd better threaten me with a newborn puppy. This girl means nothing to me.’
I tried not to flinch at the pain those words caused. Surely she was just saying it to try and protect me.
‘Oh is that so?’ the man asked. He nodded to a guy behind me and before I could react i felt a hand strike against my face.
The impact sent me to the ground.
‘You son of a-’ I heard Ingrid scream as she headbutted the man holding her and got free.
I watched from the ground as she stole a gun from an assailant and opened fire and fought off two men approaching her as she tried to get to me.
There was fire in her eyes and quite honestly it was scary. I had never seen this side of Ingrid. She was almost beast like.
