Chapter 99: Mathew's POV
A small faction of witches started hunting down magical creatures after King Jeremiah killed Raphael and his mother, Nerina De Levine, the head of the first witch coven. The group was small and the killings were rare so they weren't considered much of a threat. Those witches later came to be known as evil witches. Evil witches went into hiding for a few hundred years or so when more and more people started tracing the deaths of their loved ones back to them. However, over time the magical world forgot about evil witches and the cause that drove them to kill others. The story of the warlock that almost wiped out the magical world started to sound so horrific and impossible that many started saying it was merely a legend or made up folklore to scare children.
