I paused and tried to struggle even more. I didn’t like that I was caught while I was in Thompson’s mansion. My head turned, and I saw Veronica, who looked furious while looking at me.
She pulled my wrist once again, and I winced in pain. She gave me a death stare, and her breathing was violent. She looked like she was too ready to fight with me.
“I can’t believe I’m seeing your disgusting face here,” she said, gripping my wrist tightly. I gritted my teeth in anger, and if she was mad, I was, too.
How could she act that way after what she had done to Steven? She was the one who lied that she was me, and she was the reason why Klaus had been threatening me not to continue Annabelle’s surgery once Steven discovered it.
