Up in the skies

Chapter 2

"Are you okay?"

I asked again, because it's been a minute since he talked. I heard his loud sighed that's why I side eye him.

"Thank you." I look as he says those words, but I notice how he's watching the stars and moons. "You're right I never want to die. I want to live more than I want to die but that's the only way I can stop the pain."

"It's okay, but I hope before doing something like that again you will think for yourself. I'm not stopping you from doing it, but I'm letting you think about it more." I stood up and saw him looking at me. "I need to go, I came here to inhale some fresh air. But I didn't expect to be in this situation."

"I'm sorry." He also stood up and I only smiled at him and patted his shoulder.

"I don't need your sorry, but you deserve to hear that. You are doing great, man." I said before leaving him.

I even heard him say thank you for the last time, but I just ignored him and went back to my room. While laying on my bed a lot of realizations hit me, from the things that I encounter and more. Those people who wanted to end their lives cannot end their lives because for sure people will judge them. While those of us who want to live our lives cannot live our lives, because this kind of illness is hitting us. Life is really unfair, and I don't know anymore. Thinking hard made me feel so sleepy, that's why I immediately fell asleep.

As soon as I woke up the next morning I went to prepare myself to roam around. I have no exact plan, that's why I just go on the flow. This place is not really provincial since it still has a lot of establishments, but the difference is the air here seems so relaxing.

"One breakfast buddle." I went to a breakfast restaurant that I came across, since I'm also hungry I already went inside.

It doesn't have a lot of people, and the place is neat and clean. They are playing some relaxing songs that make the place even better.

"Here's your order, ma'am." The waiter put my order down and it's just perfect for my breakfast.

"Thank you." I said as my eyes are still on the food. It's just a simple breakfast with rice, bacon, hotdog and egg. I also choose coffee as my drink since I love drinking coffee.

"Enjoy your food, ma'am." I smile and say my thank you for the second time and he leaves me.

I'm having fun with my breakfast when I heard the restaurant door open and I don't know why I looked at it and saw a familiar face. It was dark last night, but I can still remember how he looked at that time.

"Like usual." I heard him say to the person in the cashier, maybe he always went here for breakfast.

"For take out or here? You're kinda early today, Engineer." Engineer? So he is an engineer. I bet he's having so much that makes him suffer like that.

"Will take it out. Do it for 10 people and I'll bring it to the site." I just continued eating and didn't mind his presence, because for me what happened yesterday will stay there. I only hope that he went to someone who can really help him.

After my breakfast I went for a walk. I heard that this place is famous because of their shore. They have a beautiful ocean, that's why I wanted to go there. But my hotel is kinda far from it, and I needed to ride to go there. That's why I just used my car to arrive at the shore. There's a lot of people there, and I can see why. Even there's a lot of people, the place still looks neat and clean. The sand also looks so pure.

After I park I just get my wallet and sunglasses. I'm not planning to go to the ocean, I just want to walk around. Maybe I'll do that next time. Walking around and listening to the sound of the waves feels relaxing. I'm busy watching the waves and didn't notice that there was someone in front of me, that's why we bumped into each other.

"I'm sorry." I said as I helped him pick those things that they were holding.

"Oh! It's okay." When I looked at the person I bumped into I was shocked for a second. I didn't expect to still meet him here. "It's you."

"Yeah, we will meet again." We met in the restaurant earlier, but I know he didn't know that I was there. I saw him smile, I can admit that his smile is pretty.

"Maybe we are really destined to meet again." I let out a small laugh because of what he said, and he also did the same. I can see that he looks so fine outside, but deep inside he's hitting.

"Are you okay now?" Know that the answer to my question is obvious, but I still want to ask him.

"Not really, but I kinda feel awake thanks to you." He was probably a mess yesterday, that's why he made some impulsive decision. I smile at him.

"Good to hear." It might sound selfish for me to wish that I hope he won't do it again, but I hope he really won't.

"Engineer, Architect Erik is waiting for you!" We heard someone shout that's why I looked for my back, and I saw someone wearing the same shirt that he's wearing, maybe working at the same company.

"I need to go, I still have work to do." He said with a smile and I immediately nodded. He was about to pass by me when he stopped and looked back. "What's your name again?"

"When we meet again. I'll tell you." I answer and walk away. If what he said is really true then we will have a chance to meet again.

When I get tired walking at the shore I go to the nearest cafe and order an iced coffee and some pastry that they can offer. I feel lonely, but it's okay at least I have time for myself. Looking at myself in the mirror I saw there at the cafe I look so okay. It seems like I don't have this kind of illness. I said that I will stop thinking while I'm here, but I can't help. After having my coffee and cake I drink my medicine.

Spending my whole day outside buying some things that I don't know if I will be able to use. I went back to my hotel room carrying some of the food I bought since I want to cook for myself. It's already dark outside but I still have time to cook for myself and I did what I did. Spending the night inside, because that's how I want it.

The next day I just had my breakfast inside my room, and it was afternoon when I decided to go outside. I just wear a short and sleeveless top, but I wear a see-through cardigan.

"How may I help you, ma'am?" I went to this place that I just saw online. It's a free fire and ever since I was a kid I have wanted to try it the most.

"I want to try it, but this is my first time." I already booked yesterday for this, that's why I already have someone who will instruct me on what I should do.

"It's okay, ma'am. We can help you with some stuff." I nodded as he explained to me about the different kinds of g*n that were inside.

It is a close free fire, though they also have open air but for now I want to try this first. When I'm already familiar with everything, maybe I can try them.

"Grab it like this, so you will feel more comfortable." The instructor told me and helped me with the proper hold of the g*n.

"Like this?" I said and aiming for the target he left my hand and told me to pull the trigger and I did what he said.

"Once you try it to open the area you should control the impact once you pull the trigger." The instructor told me, because when I pull the trigger the impact is sent to me.

I stayed there for an hour because I really enjoyed it. One of my bucket lists is finally checked, because I've been dreaming about doing this for a long time. After that free fire it's already lunch time, that's why I just have lunch at the nearby restaurant. While staying at the restaurant I suddenly had the urge to open my phone and I did. I post something to my social media, and my friends are the fastest to comment.

Oh my god! I also want to try that! Let's do it once you go back here.

Anna:

I also want to try that thing. Teach us once you are back here.

I don't know if I will still be able to hang out with them once I go back home. After having lunch I went to the shore again. I want to watch the sunset, and they say that there is a night bar near the shore and I wanted to try it. I want the beautiful sunset, and when the sky is already dark I went to the night bar that they are saying. Good thing that it's an open area.

"One margarita." I said to the bartender and he immediately gave it to me. They have a live band there, but it wasn't loud.

"Go on, ask her." I heard some people whispering that's why I side eye them and I saw a group of men looking at me, and pushing a guy to my way.

"Hi, miss." The guy finally approached me and sat at the available seat next to mine. I scan him from head to toe, he looks good but not my type. "Are you alone?"

"You can literally see it." I said with a smile on my face I saw how his expression changed, but he immediately put his smiling face back.

"Can I buy you a drink?" This wasn't the first time that someone offered me a drink, but they always ended up.

"No, thank you. I have money to buy my own drink." My parents also raised me not to depend on someone. That's why I'm already at the age of 22 and still haven't entered a relationship.

"I insist."

"Do it with other girls. You can't change my mind, so if you mind just go back to your friends." I said in a nice way and drank the whole margarita. I saw how he looked so pissed and left me.

I ordered more drinks. I don't care if I get drunk, I can just stay at the nearby hotel for a night. I was drinking on my glass when someone sat next to me again.

"Like usual." The familiar voice again. I'm tipsy but still fine. I looked at him, and he also looked at me. "You again."

"You must be right. We are maybe destined to meet." I saw how his lips raise and I just shake my head. I'm not yet drunk, but I can't stop my mouth from saying nonsense stuff.

"So are you going to say your name now?" I kinda remember what I promised the last time we saw each other. I sit straight and offer him my hand.

"Natasha Villiaflor, that's my beautiful name." I introduced myself. He looked at my hand and accepted it and shook hands.

"Adrian Santiago, that's my name. I'm pleased to meet you, Natasha." The both of us smile.
