Chapter 4

The sound of sighs and laughter from inside the room made my suspicions even greater. Feeling curious about what was going on, I quickly knocked hard on the door. Soon, the door opened and I saw Jason come out shirtless. He looked nervous when he saw me, and hurriedly adjusted the zipper of his pants. His hair was also very messy. "Jason?” "Cass, what are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to prepare food for Grace?" Jason asked nervously. "I'm not feeling well, Alpha. I was just walking around the pack and accidentally heard you laughing from inside the room." I tried to speak calmly, even though my heart felt like it was being ripped apart. "Oh that, we were just ...." "Jason was just visiting me. He's worried about me." Grace suddenly came out, and she was wearing only the skimpy clothes that clung to her body. Just like Jason, I saw that Grace's hair was also very messy. I even accidentally saw kiss marks on her neck and chest. My eyes heated up even more at the sight. I was sure that they must have gone further than just friends. However, I had already decided to leave Jason's life. I shouldn't feel angry about what I saw. "Okay. Sorry if I disturbed you guys. I'll leave now." I was about to walk away, but Grace's voice stopped me. "Wait, Luna Cassandra!" "What's wrong?" "What's that on your neck? Is that a mark? Well, you're very lucky that Jason has claimed you as his mate, and has also given you the mark." Grace's words sounded sarcastic like she was jealous of me. "You can also get a mark from Jason if you want. After all, even if I am his Luna, it doesn't necessarily mean that I am his fated mate." Jason and Grace were wide-eyed after hearing my words. They even looked at each other, as if confused. However, this time it was me who was misled by the red lipstick marks on Jason's chest. The same lipstick color as Grace's lips! My jaw hardened. My sharp eyes looked at them in turn. I was angry, but I didn't want to show my anger in front of them as much as possible, or else they would think I was defeated. "I'm going to go take a break. I'll cook for you later." Carrying the wounds in my heart deeply, I left them and headed to my room. Now I didn't care what they did anymore. Later I just wanted to give them a small surprise that would make them happy. "My silence doesn't mean I lost!” — Tonight, I had finished preparing dinner for Jason, along with his dear friend, of course. I had also packed all my clothes, put them in my suitcase, and was ready to go. Since this afternoon, Jason and Grace had gone somewhere. I didn't want to know, because it was none of my business. Now I stood still, staring at the room that I had shared with Jason for the past two years. My tears fall again, remembering the beautiful and painful memories in the same place. "Goodbye, Jason. After I leave, I hope that we will never meet again, either in this life or in the next." I wiped away my tears. Before leaving the room, I put down the divorce papers that I had gotten from the court secretly without Jason's knowledge. I had also taken care of my travel papers by secretly affixing the stamp that I stole from Jason's workspace. That way, the guards at the pack border would assume that I had gotten permission from the alpha. Next to the divorce papers, I took off the wedding ring that Jason had given me. I also placed a farewell letter that I wrote in red ink. "Goodbye forever, Jason! Don't ever look for me again." My hand trembled as I closed the door. Now I only had to leave for the Silvermoon pack that was waiting for me. Without waiting for long, I rushed out and drove the car at high speed. None of the Nightclaw pack members were aware of my departure. I was very grateful for that. When crossing the border, I could easily pass after showing a letter containing a seal, as if I had received approval from the Nightclaw alpha. I certainly couldn't go carelessly and without an escort, especially since I was a Luna. After driving for a while, I finally arrived at Pack Silvermoon's border. I smiled as I saw the pack from a distance. The anger, sadness, and disappointment I had carried from Pack Nightclaw had gradually disappeared and been replaced with a glimmer of happiness. "Ah, it's Alaric," I muttered when I saw a man standing at the edge of the pack's border. I drove my car over to Alaric who immediately smiled when he greeted me. "Hi, Cassandra, how are you?" asked Alaric as he waved. "I'm fine, alpha. Why are you here?" "I came to pick you up. Let's go to your house right now." I nodded and agreed to his words. Alaric drove his car behind me as if he was a bodyguard for me. A sense of happiness began to creep into my heart, as I had now returned to the pack that raised me since childhood. All the Silvermoon pack members welcomed me with joy. They even held a welcome celebration that made me feel touched. This was the only time I truly felt appreciated. I was swept up in the happy and touching atmosphere. I savored the celebration that was made especially for me. "Cassandra!" Suddenly my mind link picked up a man's voice that was very clear and familiar to my ears. Jason's voice!
