"Cassandra, what's all this about? Why are you leaving? And why do you want a divorce from me?" Jason's voice sounded angry.
I growled, then immediately disconnected the mind link with him.
"He shouldn't be asking that. All the reasons are clear. I've also written all his cheating in our separation papers."
"Cass, what's wrong with you?" asked Alaric, who was now near me.
Hearing his deep voice, I was immediately surprised and turned quickly to him. Alaric's face looked very worried.
"Oh, Alaric."
"Are you okay, Cass?"
I was silent for a moment. I didn't want to talk about my problems with Jason, but I had nowhere to go but Alaric.
He was not only my childhood friend, but he was also the one who always accompanied me when I lost my family and became an orphan. Even though he was Silvermoon's heir pack, he was never arrogant. He was even willing to be friends with me who was only an omega girl.
"Cass, you're quiet again. Are you in trouble?" Alaric surprised me as he waved a hand in front of my face.
"Ah, actually I'm not very well." I finally replied.
"What? What happened to you?"
I let out a deep sigh, and this time I was forced to tell my feud with Jason. I told him everything, even about the Rogue attack that resulted in me losing my baby-to-be.
"Is what I'm hearing true? Jason did all that to you?" Alaric growled and clenched his fists tightly. He looked very angry.
Without answering his question, I just nodded my head slowly.
"s**t! I'm going to take revenge on the Nightclaw Pack!"
"No, alpha! Let it go, the important thing is that I can get away from Jason and get back into this pack." I prevented.
"I'm very angry. But if that's what you want, then I'll go along with it." Finally, Alaric began to calm down.
"Thank you for your understanding, Alaric."
"Why don't we talk inside? It seems like you don't feel comfortable talking here.” Alaric asked, and of course, I couldn't refuse.
"Okay. I obey you."
Alaric walked first into his luxurious mansion. He then told me to go in and sit in the living room.
"Sit down, Cass. It's been a while since we've talked together. I miss our childhood moments." Alaric said with a chuckle, but I could see that he was looking at me very seriously.
"We're too busy with our own business, Alaric. You're busy with your work as an alpha, and I'm busy with myself."
"Yes, I understand." Alaric nodded.
"By the way, Cass, I wanted to ask you about the Rogue's attack. Do you know why they attacked Nightclaw's pack? Maybe Jason has enemies out there?" Alaric asked, making me silent.
"I don't know, Alaric. As far as I know, our pack has never had any enemies. But...." I suddenly fell silent.
Something odd suddenly flashed through my mind. I saw those Rogues attacking all of us, especially me. But why didn't I see them attack Grace?
"But what, Rebecca? Did you think of something?" Alaric grasped my hand, looking intently at me.
"Oh no. I'm not thinking about anything." I smiled and shook my head, then withdrew my hand from Alaric's grasp.
I had to find out the truth first before I told Alaric about my suspicions. I was afraid he wouldn't believe me.
"All right. Then you don't have to worry anymore. Now you are safe in our pack, and I will also help investigate the Rogues' attack. Starting today, you will be staying at my mansion to be the head chef."
"Thank you, Alaric. Ah, I mean Alpha Alaric."
"There's no need to overdo it like that. I'm still Alaric, your childhood friend. And nothing has changed from that."
"But now you're an alpha."
"And you've also become Luna."
I couldn't help but laugh at that. Alaric could put me in a better mood. Even though I now considered myself no longer Jason's Luna, Alaric's jokes had managed to make me laugh out loud. We laughed together, enjoying a moment that was long gone from my life.
---
It was already very late when I was about to go to my room to rest. However, my cell phone suddenly rang. I saw a call from Beta Kenneth of the Nightclaw pack.
"Hello, Beta. What are you calling me about?" I asked flatly.
"Luna, why did you leave? Alpha is going crazy because you left him. The wolf inside him went on a rampage and destroyed things in his room. He keeps howling your name." Beta Kenneth's voice sounded very panicked.
"Sorry, Beta. But I've decided to return to Silvermoon. Alpha also knows why I left, because I wrote everything in our farewell letter."
"But you are his Luna. You're his fate mate."
"No! I'm not his fate mate. He's already bonded with his real fate mate, and I want him to reject me immediately!"
Without waiting for a reply from Beta Kenneth, I immediately disconnected the phone line. I held my head which suddenly felt painful.
"Argh! You should be happy I'm gone, Jason!" I shouted.
I had no idea that my leaving would have such an impact on his life. He should be happy because now he can be with Grace without me.
"Cass." Catherine's voice rang through me.
"Yes, Catherine. What are you feeling?" I started trying to calm myself down and waited for her answer.
I felt that Catherine still couldn't let go of Jason. She was still connected to the wolf in Jason's body. Catherine also felt the pain experienced by him.
"Cass, are you sure you don't want to go back to Jason? He was tormented by your departure."
"No! I will never go back to him. We've been hurt enough by him, and you feel my pain too, Catherine! Now it's time for us to find happiness."
"Fine if that's your decision."
Now I was trying to calm Catherine down. However, I suddenly accidentally saw a black shadow passing behind me.
I felt that someone was watching me right now!
