CHAPTER TWO

1164 Words
Emily’s POV I never thought my life would take such a strange turn when I met Leon. He was the leader of a group of werewolves, and I had stumbled upon them by accident when I was out hiking in the woods. At first, I was scared out of my wits, but Leon and his pack were surprisingly welcoming. They explained that they were on a mission to find and eliminate rogue werewolves who were causing trouble in the area. I was fascinated by their powers, and I quickly became invested in their mission. I offered to help in any way I could, and Leon accepted my help gratefully. I was the one that approached Leon and his pack first. “Where are you going?” I said to one of the werewolves who I thought was the leader. He didn’t answer me. The group kept going, ignoring me. “That road is dangerous,” I said to them, “Dangerous! How?” I can hear him saying to me with fear in his eyes. “It is just some wild animals, there are many. They could harm you.” I said to them after surveying their numbers, there are not many. They could die if they are attacked by wild animals. “Thank you!” The Leader said. “But what are you doing here?” He asked me. It was then I narrated everything to him. The leader took pity upon me and asked me to follow him. “If you can follow us, we will make sure you have all the ultimate care.” The leader said to me, My desire quickly changed. I had wanted to be only, but I could not resist the proposal given by this handsome leader. I agreed and followed him. I learned about their mission and offered all my support. Over the next few weeks, I became an honorary member of their pack. I learned a lot about their culture and their way of life. As I spent more time with the pack, I grew closer to Leon. He was kind, compassionate, and fiercely protective of his pack. I found myself falling for him, even though I knew it could never work out between us. He was a werewolf, and I was a human. But even though I knew it was foolish, I couldn’t help my feelings. He took care of me and my unborn baby. “I assured you that nothing will happen to you and your baby.” Leon had said to me one day. He was a lovely person. He saw my baby as his own. “Thank you, Leon!” I had said to him after experiencing all his care. One day, Sophia showed up. She was Leon’s girlfriend. It was the first time I heard about her. I never thought that Leon had a girlfriend. She had hoped to become his mate, but when Leon saw me, his attitude and behavior changed towards her. He no longer had feelings for her. I happened to come across their conversation one day. Leon and Sophia were sitting on a chair outside the pack house, enjoying the sunny afternoon. Suddenly, Leon turned to Sophia and said, “Sophia, I need to talk to you about something important.” Sophia looked at him curiously. “What is it, Leon? Is everything okay?” Leon hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, “The truth is, Sophia, I’m no longer interested in pursuing a relationship with you.” Sophia’s heart sank. “What? Why not? Did I do something wrong?” Leon shook his head. “No, it’s not that. It’s just that I don’t feel the same way anymore.” Sophia’s eyes filled with tears. She pleaded, “Please, Leon, give me a chance. I know I can make you happy. I’ll do whatever it takes.” But Leon stayed firm. “I’m sorry, Sophia. I’ve made up my mind. I don’t want to continue seeing you.” Sophia’s tone turned accusatory. “Is this because of that pregnant woman you helped? You’re rejecting me for her?” Leon looked at Sophia, his eyes softening. “Actually, yes. I do love her. I want to be with her and raise her child together.” Sophia’s face contorted in anger. “Fine, then. Go be with your little family. But don’t expect me to stick around and wait for you to come back.” She immediately took a dislike to me, accusing me of trying to take Leon away from her. I tried to explain that there was nothing between us, but she wouldn’t listen. Soon after, strange things started happening. I would find myself being followed by a group of strangers. They would stalk me wherever I went, never speaking and always keeping their distance. I knew it was only a matter of time before they made their move. One night, the group attacked me. They came at me with knives and other weapons, trying to kill me. I was terrified, but I knew I had to defend myself. With the help of a few of Leon’s pack members who had been nearby, I was able to fight them off. They fled into the night, and I was left shaken and bruised. I knew that Sophia was behind the attack. She had hired these killers to eliminate me, but she had failed. I confronted her the next day, telling her that I knew what she had done. She denied everything, but I could see the hatred in her eyes. With Sophia’s threat looming over me, I decided to stay with Leon’s pack for a while longer. I learned that the Lycan King, the ruler of all the werewolves in the area, who I fled his house with, had many enemies. Other werewolf clans were trying to overthrow him and take control of themselves. As I continued to help Leon and his pack, I realized just how much danger they were all in. But I couldn’t turn my back on them. I had grown to care for all of them deeply, especially Leon. He had become a father figure to my baby, and I knew that we were all a family now. But as much as I loved being with them, I knew that I couldn’t stay forever. Eventually, I would have to leave and find a way to survive. The thought made me sad, but I knew that I had to do what was best for my baby. As I packed my things and prepared to leave, I couldn’t help feeling a sense of sadness and longing. Leon and his pack had become such a huge part of my life, and I was going to miss them all terribly. Just as I was about to leave, there was a knock at the door. I opened it to find more of Sophia’s hired killers standing outside, their weapons at the ready.
