Master's servant

Iris showed Blake out of the palace with a smile and a wave. They had another session of her diving into her subconscious. This time around, she saw some of her battles against the demons in this life. She definitely seemed to be brillant when it came to combat. And the power that she commanded, especially with those axes of hers, was unmatched. She had to find them. Now that she knew that they existed and what they meant and did for her, she felt like she was missing a piece of herself. Well, another piece. She sighed as she went to her room and threw herself down on the bed. She was exhausted. It had been a week since the event that happened on the practice field. But after that, every morning at 4am she ran the troops until they couldn't stand anymore. Yet she was left standing with barely breaking a sweat. They were lazy and out of practice. She was going to make sure to change that very fast. Besides, she needed them to be ready. Because she was planning to go to her again, and this time, she would free her love and kill the demon that took her arm. She looked down at the nub that was her arm. She sighed as she ran her hand over it. She felt a sudden pain and gasped. It was a phantom pain. She hated not having a piece of herself. If she wasn't so controlled, she would scream in frustration right now. And there was the case of Joel, she had not seen him since that day, but she knew that he wasn't done. She could tell by the look in his eyes that he would try again. So she was on guard, not knowing when or how he would strike next. He was a snake. She saw that from his memories. He had traded a favor with a demon to get a charm that he used to convince her father to let him marry her. She had also seen bits and pieces of him in the past life as he watched her from afar trying to plan how to get her to be with him. She shook her head in disgust. She would only be with who she was destined to be, but he couldn't understand that she guessed. But he probably also has other motives that were hidden to her at the moment. She sighed again as a knock sounded on her door. "Enter," she beckoned softly. A servant girl opened the door. Iris sat up and smiled at her. "My lady, your father wishes to have an audience with you. He's in his study." Iris smiled at her and nodded. "Thank you, I'll be right there." The young lady nodded and walked out, closing the door behind her. Iris sighed. What could this guy want now. ******************* Iris sat in her father's study and waited for him to sit across from her. He had been finishing up a request when she walked in. Finally, he came and sat down across from her with a sigh. She looked at him expectedly. "Iris, I called you here to talk about your engagement, and I also want to discuss presenting yourself to the people." She narrowed her eyes at him. "I already told you, Father. I refuse to marry that man. If you wish to go on with this fool hardy plan, I will not have it." He raised his hand up to her, and she stopped talking. "Iris, look, I was trying to think of what would be best for you, and he was the only person who could even be considered someone to compliment your power." She chuckled. "That man will never be anywhere close to my power. I won't let him get close to me, ever." "Yes, I heard about the events that happened on the practice field. I must say, I was a little appalled at first, but then, to be honest, it made me proud. Proud that you are that strong and can stand on your own, even on a field full of soldiers, you toss one of the strongest ones like nothing and put the fear of the gods in the rest." Her father chuckled. "After talking to your mother and your siblings, I have decided that you do not need to be wedded to take over the throne and rule our people. You are more than capable of facing any challenge thrown at you. And with the support of your siblings, you are unstoppable. I mean, we all thought that you were dead. But here you are, risen from the dead like the Goddess that you are named after." He chuckled and wiped a tear from his eye. "So that is my decision. You are a free woman, Iris, to do as you please, as far as royalty is concerned." Iris chuckled. "It is about time that you see my side of things, father. That makes me happy." He nodded at her. "And now, since it seems that you are more of yourself than when you first arrived, I feel like it is time for us to reintroduce you to the people of the city with a ball. It only seems right, considering we are quite dramatic people sometimes." Iris chuckled as she thought about the practice field. That was definitely a little drama. She nodded. "That is acceptable, father. Just tell me when and where and I will be there." He nodded in excitement. "Excellent! Your mother will be very excited. She loves parties." They both chuckled. **************** "My love, I have some news that I must inform you of." Aurora looked down at Iris, who had her head laid down on her bare thighs. "What has happened?" "Well, my father has finally come to terms and called off my engagement. He sees that I do not need to be married to rule." Aurora snorted. "I hate old-fashioned rulers. It's about time. Especially when I come to walk in that relam. That is my place." Iris smirked before pulling Aurora down for a hard kiss. "I know who's place that is very well. But also, I have forgotten to tell you all of this time. I remember how I lost my arm." Aurora raised her eyebrows in shock. Her face went hard. "Who was it? I will kill them myself." Iris chuckled at her antics. "Actually, it was a demon who wants to release you." Aurora's eyebrows shot up. "He is a high-level demon. And he thinks that the only way to break the seal on you is to sacrifice me to you." She looked at Aurora as she saw her face darken. "Tell me everything." Aurora said darkly. Iris recounted the story to her in as much detail as she could remember. When she was finished, Aurora had a dark, murderous look on her face. "I know exactly who that demon is. And he is very lucky that I have this curse because I would get rid of him in the worst way possible." Iris cupped her face. "Tell me about him, my love." Aurora looked down at her. "He is the demon that controls the shadows. He is very high in the army. He was to be the general under my father's rule, but I denied him that role when I became the ruler because of how he viewed our union." She rubbed her hand through her hair. "I can't believe that he is the one behind your attempted death. If I had known that he was going to be this much trouble, I would have done away with him long ago." Iris grabbed her hands and intertwined them with hers. "What is his weakness? That way, when I encounter him again, I can deal with him quickly." "The same weakness all demons have if they are not of the godly plain. Light. They can not function if there is no darkness. But since he has more power, it will only weaken him, but you will have to do the finishing blow by taking his head off." Iris nodded. "I can do that, but I need to find my axes first. He had them taken and hidden from me. As we speak, I have my pets searching for them." Aurora nodded. "Everything will come together as we need it to in due time, my love." They pressed their lips together in a quick kiss that was quickly turning into more. ****************** Blake was sitting at his desk as a feeling suddenly came over him. He stood up straight and looked around. The white walls slowly started to fade away to turn into shadows. He looked around in curiosity, and finally, a glint of color caught his eye in the darkness. There, hanging on the wall surrounded by a glass box, were the master's twin axes. Their blue hue grew and faded in the room as if crying out for their master. The golden mouse ran closer to the box until it was directly under it. It pressed itself up against the wall until it molded to it. No one would be able to tell that it was there. Its belly began to release tiny bursts of golden energy that raced through the land in the charred soil. It went miles until it reached Blake's hands, relaying the location that the weapons' wareabouts. Blake's eyes flew open, and he jumped up. He knew where her axes were.
