James's eyes dropped, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "How did you find out, Victoria?" he whispered.
"Find out what?" Emily asked, confusion etched on her face.
Victoria's smile grew wider. "James's little secret. The one he's been hiding from everyone."
James took a deep breath before speaking, his voice barely above a whisper. "I have a son, Emily. A son I never knew about."
Emily's eyes widened in shock as Victoria continued. "Yes, James's secret child. And I'm sure his mother would love to meet you, Emily."
James's face went white as Victoria revealed her final trick. "You see, Emily, James's son is the key to everything. And now, he's going to pay for keeping him a secret."

The room fell silent as James's words hung in the air. Emily's mind reeled as she tried to process this new information.
"Who is the mother?" Emily asked finally, her voice barely above a whisper.
James hesitated before speaking. "Her name is Sarah. We had a brief relationship years ago, and I never knew she was pregnant."
Victoria snorted. "Save it, James. You knew exactly what you were doing."
Sarah, the mother of James's child, stepped forward, her eyes fixed on James. "That's not true, Victoria. James didn't know about our son."
Emily's eyes widened as she realized the truth. "You're the one who's been sending me messages, aren't you? Trying to warn me away from James."
Sarah nodded. "I was trying to protect you, Emily. I didn't want you to get hurt like I did."
