BETRAYED

CHAPTER 6: DOC

The next day I am woken up by a voicemail from the hospital telling me that Daisy had been woken up from yesterdays examination and was ready to see her family members, so I quickly got ready to go and visited her to see how she was holding up, especially after being by herself without me for so long. It must terrify her like it did to me 

"Hi" She smiles and sits up as she sees me coming in. She looked totally fine and happy without me being there and I frowned because I was panicking the whole time. She was playing on an iPad that wasn't hers since we couldn't afford one but I was saving up to buy her one because she loved drawing and with an iPad she would properly be able to draw and express her talent 

"Hey sis" I say and grab a chair placing it next to her "The doctor said that soon I might be better so we don't have to come here ever again and no more tears for you" She says to me and I smile at her what she says praying it was true 

"Soon my little sister will be better and you will grow big and strong. Stronger than me" I pat her head and pull me closer to me so she was now in my embrace "It's me and you little sis and when you are out of here I am going to find every solution to get you better, I promise, I will give you a better life" I say as I inhale her smell and a tear drops down my face

Daisy moves her head up in my embrace to look at my face and then brings her hand to wipe my face "A better life? This is the best!" She exclaims and I chuckle as another tear drops from my eyes "No more crying Natalia, we have to be positive, I am never gonna leave you so stop worrying" Her glossy eyes were looking into mine and I force a smile "I am just happy you're fine baby, I am just happy you are fine, Daisy" She moves her head back down to the iPad and continues to draw and I watch her for a few minutes 

"Hi Daisy, how are you holding up?" A doctor enters the room and I sit up whilst she puts the iPad down and looks up "I am fine, your iPad is so cool" I look up at the doctor and I am shocked to see how good looking he was and I quickly look back down remembering how bad I looked from my hangover and I rub my lips together nervously 

"You look like you're doing fine, just remember you have to drink plenty fluids, take you're meds on time and don't play on the pad too much" He makes a playful joke at the end and Daisy nods smiling but then she notices me staring at her scrunching her eyebrows confused 

"What?" She mouths to me and I shake my head "May I speak to your mum outside for a second please?" He says out loud directed to me and my eyes open wide and I turn slowly "Now?" I ask and he nods smiling at me "Okay" I say forcing a smile standing up "o...kay" I repeat nervously and rub my hands on the back of my jeans and we both head outside 

He looks down at his clipboard waiting for me to close the door and once it is quiet he looks up at me "Are you okay?" The doctor asks me as I was looking down fiddling with my fingers "Huh?" "I asked if you were alright?" He repeats smiling at my actions and I wave him off 

"Uh yeah, just nervous that's all" I look up pretending to brush it off and he nods "So?" I continue on "Well it looks like she's doing good, the doctors having prescribed her new meds to her and I added them to the repeat" I nod and listen as he continues 

"As for the faint that happened at school, it seems to us that she didn't take one of her meds and it's consistent as you can see on the chart" He shows me the clipboard and I nod not knowing what all the numbers meant so I just let him continue ",and when we asked her about the missing med, she said it had made her feel sick and that is why she avoided taking that particular med" I gasp internally as I feel bad for not knowing that this was happening to my sister 

"I am so sorry for this scare" I rub my lips together and he places his hands on my hand and my eyes widen "It's okay, it's not your fault, we have given her a new medication and hopefully that should last her until her official operation, she wont be given it anymore" I nod trying to catch my breath from out sudden interaction "Thank you" He squeezes my hand and winks at me making me blush and I look away trying not to cough 

"Soon or later she will beat it" He says and I nod smiling at his optimism "Have a good day" He raises his brows and finally lets me go "You too" I shout behind him as he turns to walk away

Daisy had to stay in hospital for a few more days so that the doctors could make sure she was back on track with her new medicine so I would be able to collect her in the next 2 days meaning more trips back to the hospital for me but I didn't care as long as she was safe and healthy. So for the rest of the day I spent my entire day off with her

The next day I get up early in the morning to head over to work on time. On my journey there I was praying to forget about all that happened the other night. Even though it was one of the best night of my life for a while it was also the most embarrassing because even though I had a massive crush on River, in the end...he is my boss

It was just getting weird 

I smack my head as I remember the things I did but I also smile at the the response I also got from River, but quickly wipe my smile away when I remember that I was headed to work right now and I didn't know how I was going to face him

'Ugh' I smack my head back 'Okay just avoid him, that's it' I come up with a deal inside my head mentally and breathe in and out  

I head into work and take the elevator looking around as I quickly forgot how it looked around here and how busy this corporation was "Hey" I say to a co worker as they pass me and he smiles as he was walking to the break room

"Hey, you must be Natalia right?" A woman approaches me and I smile at her and nod "Yeah" "Omg hey, Hazel" She reaches her hand out and I take it "You're assigned with me today, I am the official PA" She explains herself and I raise my brows realising that this is the woman I was supposed to shadow "Ohhh hi Hazel, you're so pretty by the way" She smiles at my response "Me and you are gonna be the besets friends" She says and guides me into an empty office where she starts explaining how the company regulates itself 

"Mr Kim, has requested you in his office" The receptionist comes into the office without knocking and I look at Hazel who looks back at her "Who? Me or Natalia?" She asks her "Natalia" She says and I look at her shocked because my plan had failed already 

"Me?" "Uh yeah" She retorts at me rudely and walks out without another word "I'll be quick" I stand up wiping my hands at the back of my skirt nervously and Hazel nods "Take your time, if he requested you it must be important" She gathers some papers together and my breath hitches as I become more nervous "O..kay"

'What could this be about?' I wonder to myself as I make my way down the hall

I knock and walk into the office where River is already standing up near his desk looking really stressed as he kept pushing his mid long hair back "Sir?" He looks up at me and turns around "Shut the door" He whispers but he was loud enough for me to hear him

I walk back and shut the door and walk over to his desk "The receptionist said that-" He turns around and takes a magazine from under his desk and slams it on the table for me to see and my eyes widen as I see myself half covering my face on the front of a magazine with the headline 'Playboy gone serious?!'

I stare at myself as they managed to capture glimpses of my face so for anyone who knew me they would know it was me as I am wearing Roman's Jacket, in his car with, and some pictures of Roman driving off were also shown "Is this- this- what the" I swallow as I look up at River who couldn't even looking at me
