CHAPTER III : Illusion?

Joseph's POV : It's almost two years, yet I still don't have new informations about Amy and tomorrow is our flight to Cambridge. I already made a decision to move forward for my life. I will stop searching for her. . I place the flowers I bought beside their gravestones. "Mom, Dad, I'm leaving." "We're going to leave tomorrow. I'll do what you guys wanted me to do." I smiled then a sudden winds blew. Maybe they are happy that I finally agreed with their plans..... . . . . We stopped when the traffic lights turns red, indicating that cars should stop. Patrick also taught me some traffic protocols so I know some of them. Way back in the 1700's, there were no traffic lights and many cars in the streets like today. Buildings were not were not as lofty as today. There were no such thing as mobile phones, unlike today you can see people busy talking to someone on the other line or their eyes are on their phones while walking. On what I've been seeing, I think everyone have their own phones. Anyways, we are in our car right now and we're heading to the airport. This will be my first time to ride an airplane. I just saw it through the internet and I think it would be fun. I turn my head to look outside and I was amazed to see the Mackinac Bridge. Whoa. There's no bridge there before. You have to ride a boat or ferry to reach the upper peninsula back then. The bridge fits perfectly with the lake. I remember how I and Amy used to swim in Lake Lansing almost every week. I miss her. . . (throwback) "JJ, come and get me." Amy said while running towards the lake. Before I get to respond, she already took off her shirt and jumped on the lake. I also took off my shirt and leave it to the ground where I was standing and run then jumped on the water. "Cold, isn't it?" She asked me while laughing and splashed some water on my face. "You mean. You should have told me earlier. I should've not jumped then." I said imitating her pout and trying to act cute. I swam closer to her. I just stopped when we are inch away from each other. I placed my arms around her waist to pull her even closer to me. "Now you have to heat me up, beautiful." I said while looking straight in her eyes then her lips. Damn, those lips. I closed my eyes and was about to kiss her when she placed a finger on my lips and she kissed that finger instead. She then swam away. She suddenly stopped and look back on me. "Only, if you can catch me." she said teasingly and laughing. I then swam as fast as I can...... . . . . . . "Good morning everyone. I am John Joseph Collins. I came from Lasing, Michigan and I'm looking forward to learn with you all." I said, introducing myself to the class formally. Today is my first day here in Harvard and I took up History and Literature. I looked around to see if there's a vacant chair and found one on the forth row. I sit directly to that vacant chair after the introduction. "Oh My God! I think I like him." Said one of the girls sitting behind me talking to her friends. "Yeah, I like him too. He's so damn handsome." The other girl said seductively. "Hey, he's all mine. So back off, girls." The other girl protests. Tsk. I just ignore them and listen to our professor. "Good day, class. I am Professor Dave Adams. I'm going to discuss about......." our professor discusses for almost 2 hours before he dismisses us. "Okay class, see you next meeting." He said. I was putting my notebook and pen on my bag, my laptop still on my desk. Then I took a glance at our professor who was opening the door for himself. When he opened the door. I saw that there are some students busy talking and some are walking in the hallway but someone caught my attention. It was HER. My heart beats faster. She just walked passed our door like the other students. I immediately put my laptop inside my bag. I stood up and was about to go when suddenly four girls blocked my way. Those were the ones sitting behind me. "Hi, I'm Amanda." The blonde girl in the right said while smiling seductively. She also extended her hands to handshake with me. "Deborah here." A black girl next to Amanda said pointing her hands infront of herself. "I'm Jane, it's really nice meeting you." The girl next to Deborah said. She stands besides me then linked her arms around my biceps. "And I'm Trixie. Do you have plans later? We would like to invite you at our friend's party later tonight. Are you up with it?" The other girl on my left said. Oh, c'mon. I don't have time for any of this. I looked on the door then back to them. "I'm s....... " I was about to excuse myself when Jane cuts me off. "So, you're up?" she asked excitedly. Of course, NOT. "Look girls." I said hurriedly while trying to respectfully getting Jane's arms off of me. "I'm really sorry but I really need to go. I have important things to catch up." "But it's really nice meeting you guys." I said then smile a little. I immediately run outside the room and looked for her but there's too many students in the hallway. I walked towards the direction where she goes and looked carefully in each students hoping it was her but I can't find her. Was that her? I stopped when I got tired. Maybe I was just hallucinating? But I saw her. It was her. It was Amelia.......
