40 While Richard and Jim were running around settling Sue Ellen’s arrangements, I took the opportunity to review my notes and make a phone call. It was a brief call, but by the time Richard returned, the Reverend Robert Johnson had confirmed my suspicions. “Let’s go get something to eat,” I said. Richard objected. “We’ve got a lot to talk about, and we can order in.” “Believe it or not, there’s no law yet that says we can’t talk outside. I’d like to get the hell out of here, if you don’t mind.” Richard obviously wasn’t happy, but he knew he couldn’t handcuff me to a radiator. The new building had central heating.
