It didn’t take me long to write the letter. It had been fortunate that I had been taught to write and read. Many girls were not ever given the chance to learn or even taught. I wasted no time in folding and sealing the letter to my parents. When I was finished, I walked up to the inn owner and asked him to send it with the next courier.
