Chapter 2

Arlem, the son of Alpha Arthur, sat across from a group of angry citizens from the North Pole wolf pack. He could see the frustration and pain in their eyes as they voiced their grievances against his father and their kingdom. "Alpha Arlem," the head gamma spoke, his voice trembling with anger. "We have suffered greatly because of your kingdom's actions. Our Alpha and our Beta were killed, and many of our warriors lost their lives in the war. And to top it off, your kingdom was responsible for the death of Alpha Julius' daughter." "We won't pay any more tribute until something is done" one of the elders asserted furiously, hitting the table beside him real hard. Arlem listened intently, nodding in acknowledgement of their pain. "I understand your anger and frustration," he said calmly. "But please know that my father and I are committed to finding a way to make things right. We want to work with you to rebuild your kingdom and ensure that something like this never happens again." Arlem could feel the anger radiating from the North Pole citizens, and he knew that he had to choose his words carefully, but nevertheless, they understood that they dare not overstep their boundary with him, else they faced the consequences. "I understand that you are upset," he said, trying to keep his voice calm. "But violence is not the answer. We can work together to find a peaceful solution." "Peaceful solution?" one of the citizens snarled. "You and your father have done nothing but cause us pain and suffering. We want justice!" Arlem sighed. He knew that it was going to be a long meeting. "I hear your grievances, and I promise that we will make it right. But please, let's work together to find a way forward." As the meeting grew heated, the door burst open with a loud bang. An omega rushed in, his face contorted with fear and his breaths coming in short, panicked gasps. "Your highness," he panted, "the Luna of Sardis and her warriors... they're here! They're coming!" Arlem and his guards quickly made their way to the door, bracing themselves for the coming conflict. As they stepped outside, they were met with the sight of Luna and her warriors. "What is the meaning of this, Aris?" Arlem growled, his voice laced with anger. "See who we have here." Claps, claps… walks majestically. "The son of Arthur, Alpha the Bradds. Our own Arlem", Luna Aris, narrated with great disdain as she laughed hysterically with her hands moving strands of hair away from her face. "You killed my daughter. Do you know how long I've dreamt of this day? Just you and me alone, so I can avenge her." Luna's eyes flashed with anger as she continued. For three years running, she had assigned a trusted delta wolf to monitor the daily movements of the future Alpha of the Bradds and notify her when the prince was noticed to be alone, far from home, so as to cause the Bradd wolf pack the same pain they'd afflicted her. Arlem's expression softened slightly, as he remembered the battle where her daughter had been killed. "I am sorry for your loss," he said, "but you are trespassing beyond your territory. This is Bradd Kingdom land." "I do not care for your laws," Aris growled, her eyes blazing with fury. "You killed my daughter, and you will pay for it." "Your mother took away the man that I love, you also decided to cause me pain by taking the life of my Jane", Luna Aris accused passionately, with her face overwhelmed with rage. "Come off it! The moon goddess didn't destined you both together", Arlem retorted. "And it was war, people died." The tension in the air was thick as the two sides stared each other down. The anger and hatred between them seemed palpable, and it was clear that there would be no turning back from this conflict. "Don't make me fight you, Aris", Arlem said. "That's exactly what I came here for" Aris responded. The North Pole wolf pack found themselves struggling to decide which side to support. They were angry at the Bradds for neglecting their needs and failing to protect them. On the other hand, they feared that the Sardis kingdom might prove an even worse fate, with harsher rules and punishments for those who dared to resist. Both parties began to shift and change, their bones cracking and popping as they transformed into their werewolf forms. As Arlem shifted into his werewolf form, something different occurred in his transformation. His teeth grew even longer, and his eyes glowed with a crimson hue. He is not just a werewolf! He is a HYBRID -Half-werewolf, half-vampire. The other guards looked at him in shock and awe, amazed at the power that he possessed. They knew that Arlem was a force to be reckoned with, but they had no idea just how formidable he truly was. Arlem's hybrid nature was widely known, as it was not a secret. His father, Alpha Arthur, had met Arlem's mother, Magna, a vampire, many years ago during one of his travels. Magna had been a fierce warrior in her own right, with a strength and power that matched even the strongest werewolves. Despite their different backgrounds, Alpha Arthur had fallen deeply in love with Magna, and they were married soon after. Their union was not without challenges, as their two worlds were vastly different. However, their love proved stronger than any obstacle, and they eventually welcomed their son Arlem into the world. Arlem's hybrid nature was a rare and powerful combination, imbuing him with the strengths of both werewolves and vampires. It also made him a target, as many in the werewolf world feared and distrusted vampires. Arlem's body stretched and grew, his muscles bulging as his fur sprouted from his skin. His clothes tore and shredded as his form became more bestial, his hands now paws, his teeth long and sharp. The guards underwent a similar transformation, each becoming a fierce werewolf warrior, their eyes glowing with an inner fire as they prepared to fight. Luna Aris and her warriors were also transforming. Their bodies twisted and contorted as they became beasts, their fur thickening and their claws growing razor-sharp. For these werewolves, it was a necessary step in their battle for vengeance and justice. Arlem lunged forward, his sharp claws glinting in the moonlight as he attacked the Luna. "You have no business being here," he snarled. "This is Bradd territory." The Luna dodged his attack and retaliated with a fierce swipe of her own, her razor-sharp claws leaving deep gashes on Arlem's arm. "My daughter's death will not go unpunished," she hissed. The Luna, a formidable opponent, was quick to react, but Arlem's hybrid strength proved too much for her. The two sides continued to clash, their bodies colliding with tremendous force as they fought tooth and nail. The sound of flesh tearing and bones cracking echoed through the night as the battle raged on. Finally, Arlem managed to land a powerful blow on Luna, his claws ripping through her chest and ending her life. "Luna…" one of the Sardis warriors shouted after seeing their queen drowning in her pool of blood. "I...t surely w…on't end like this. Renzo will come for you" Luna Aris mustered before breathing her last. The surviving members of her pack quickly retreated, carrying her body with them as they fled back to the Sardis kingdom. Arlem and his guards watched as they disappeared into the distance, their forms slowly fading back into their human form as the adrenaline of battle began to wear off. As Arlem and his guards watched them leave, he turned to his fellow werewolves, "We must be prepared for whatever may come next. The Sardis kingdom will not take this lying down. We must be ready to defend ourselves at any moment." His guards nodded in agreement, their eyes fixed on the horizon, scanning for any sign of approaching enemies. And with that, they made their way back to the Bradd kingdom, ready to face whatever challenges may come their way.
