Chapter 9- "Why is she in your room?"

The view in front of me took me by surprise but that surely was a pleasant surprise. He was looking so hot and I tried my best to keep my eyes from drifting to his chest but damn could anyone stop themselves from admiring this piece of hunk.

I didn't realize that I was practically staring at him for a couple of minutes until he cleared his throat and said, "Like what you see?" And he smirked.

Just how much more hot and sexy can he get? Oh, that smirk is gonna kill me someday.

He walked towards the bed, where I was. That smirk still playing on his lips, he approached me. My heart started to somersault in my chest as he got nearer. He stood at the side of the bed and leaned forward. His face was barely inches away from me. My breathing started to get uneven and the excitement was overbearing.

*Is he going to kiss me?*, was the only thought in my mind.

He stopped right in front of my face and if I move an inch ahead our noses could touch. He looked into my eyes and then slowly touched my chin and closed my mouth, which I didn't even realize was hanging open for a while now.

He chuckled and said, "You really tempt me. I don't think I've ever liked someone's reaction looking at me just as much as I liked yours. I guess you did like the view. There's still a lot more to see." And he winked at me.

I could feel my cheeks getting redder by the second.

"Gosh! Your such a tease", I said pushing him back.

But he held my hand and pulled me closer and kept his other hand on my waist and said, "You think I didn't wish to kiss your lips right now? Do you know how much I want to? Or how hard it is to control myself or my wolf, now that you're in my arms? I have been searching for you for 9 years and now that I finally found you, I don't even want to keep you away from my eye sight even for a minute but I can't, I don't wanna scare you away. Even if you are my mate, you deserve to know me and fall in love with me normally and not just because of the mate bond. That is why I can't kiss you right now, no matter how much I want to."

He let go of my hands and caressed my cheek and continued, "So please fall for me as fast as you can. I really want to hold you, hug you, kiss you and make you mine forever but I want it to be your choice, made by your free will and not just by the attraction by the mate bond."

Then he let go of me completely and since I was already leaning on him when he pulled me closer, I fell on top of him, on his bed, with our lips accidentally touching and as if on cue, a girl, entered the room.

"Xan, the breakfast is ready. Let's ....

. Oh s**t! I'm so sorry I didn't see anything.", she said while entering and quickly turned around as soon as she spotted us.

We both looked at her way, and quickly scrambled to get up and off the bed on opposite sides. I felt so embarrassed to be caught at such an intimate moment however my wolf Seph was dancing with happiness to have kissed her mate even if it was accidentally.

"Uh it's fine now. You can turn around Selene.", Xander said, who was blushing a bit too.

That girl, Selene, then turned around and said, while slowly walking towards Xander, " I am so sorry, I really didn't mean to barge in like that but I really didn't know that a girl would be in here, let alone in that position."

I felt my cheeks go 10 times more red. Thankfully, I guess Xander understood how embarrassed I felt, so he walked over to the otherside where I was standing and entangled his fingers in mine.

"Well you know now and from now on she will be staying here, in this room.", Xander spoke, holding my hand and looking at Selene.

Selene looked shocked for a minute then it seemed like something finally dawned upon her.

"Is she who I think it is?", she asked Xander.

"Yup, pretty much. Why would you think she is in my room otherwise?", Xander replied, as if it was an obvious thing.

She gave a pissed look and then looked at me with a smile and out stretched her right hand, "Hi, I'm Selene, this irritating man's younger sister."

I smiled back at her and shook her hand and replied, "Nice to meet you, Selene. I'm Alexa."

"So when did you find each other?", she asked.

"Last night, before the rouge's attack", Xander answered.

"Oh! And your in his room the next morning? Wait! Did my brother kidnap you??", she exclaimed.

I chuckled.

"No, he has done nothing that extreme.... yet.", I said, with a wink.

"HEY! ", Xander reacted, pulling me closer by the hand he was holding mine with.

"Selene, you know I wouldn't ever do anything of that sort.", he said looking at her.

"Yeah but who knows. You waited that long for her so for you or your wolf to let her go home yesterday would have been almost impossible. Plus I know how Xavier is. He wouldn't have even let you sleep the entire night and he would have been wanting to just admire his mate the entire time.", Selene said.

I looked at Xander and asked him, "Is it true what she said? Your wolf Xavier didn't let you sleep?"

Instead of replying, Xander looked down and nodded. Just like how a child would react, when he's caught doing something naughty.

Looking at his innocent and cute reaction, I chuckled and hugged him sideways.

"It's ok. There's nothing to be embarrassed about.", I said reassuringly, while patting his back softly.

"Awww, see she's so understanding. You should thank God, that your mate is so understanding otherwise I don't know how anyone could have handled this Man-Baby", she said chuckling.

Hearing her call him that, she looked up and practically went chasing behind her. He chased her in the entire bedroom until she called time out and then we all went down for breakfast.

Looking at their banter, I was reminded of my sister and how we used to chase around after teasing the each other. Gosh I really miss her and mum. I miss home....

The entire day, either Xander or Selena gave me company. They showed me around i.e. the entire pack house or rather I'd perfectly describe it as pack palace. It was infact bigger than my home. The Palace in Atlantis was grand but this place? This is literally massive and most of the high ranking officials stay here. They do have their separate houses too but they rather use them as vacation home while the rest of the pack is scattered through the entire territory. Xander and Selene's parents were here due to some business deal and some pack matters, they would probably be back in 4-5 days. Since the pack house tour itself took so long, we decided to call it a night and after dinner, we said goodbyes and went to our respective rooms, well that is I went back to Xander's room.

If you would've asked me before the events of today morning, I definitely would have asked for a separate room, but it seems like Seph has no plans to stay awake from her mate but it would make it even more difficult for both of us to control our wolves if we spend the night together too and I'm not ready yet to make him meet Seph. I need to truly trust him first and I don't know how long would that take.

I could feel Seph sighing and feeling sad to be away from her mate but she knows I'm right so despite being upset, she isn't protesting my decision.

We reached Xander's room and he held the door open for me. I walked in but stopped near the door. He looked at me with concern and asked me, "Is everything alright?"

"Um.... I don't know how to put it exactly and it's not that I don't want to ever do it in future but it's just that I don't think we should so soo..", I started blabbering nervously, looking down.

He put a hand under my chin and lifted my face so that I could face him and said,

"You are feeling a bit awkward to move in with me this soon, isn't it?"

I nodded.

"I'm surprised that you took this long to say that you would need a separate room. I thought that you would've stopped and corrected me in the morning itself when I told Selene that you're gonna stay together in my room.", he said giving a smile.

"Don't worry love, I've already asked the maid to prepare a room for you. I know you require your time, space and privacy too. So shall we go there now?", he said while he outstretched his hand for me to take.

I took his hand and he walked me to the room that he prepared for me.

All it took was a minute for us to go out the door and reach the room that he prepared for me, which is exactly adjacent to his.

He opened the door and we both entered. The room was really elegant and to my surprise, just the way I like.

I was so happy to get my own room here but there goes so much for the space and privacy he mentioned. Because not only it's right next to him, I may probably be able to even hear him speak next door.

It wasn't as big as Xander's room but it was still big enough. I absolutely loved those hanging fairy lights chandelier. It was just like home. I don't know how but he somehow managed to make my room just like my bedroom back at home. And the view from the balcony was just as beautiful as was from his. Only difference that his room's balcony and mine are separated by probably just a foot. So my best guess is, he could probably sneak in whenever he wanted. What a clever ass he is.

I looked at him but before I could tell him that I understood his plan, he said,

"Ok so yeah you need your space and everything but I would miss my mate too and it would be inconvenient to make you get up every now and then to open the door plus if anyone saw that, it would get awkward seeing me sneak it all the time. So I found a more convenient way." And he gave a bright toothy smile in the end.

"Sneak in all the time huh? ", I said smirking.

He gave a sheepish grin and spoke,

"Yeah well... I mean it is way convenient... than the doorway.. if you don't mind... I'm trying to give space......."

He started blabbering nervously like how a child does when he accidentally spills his secret and then trying to explain.

So I put a finger on his lips, quieting him.

"It's alright. As long as we take it slow.", I spoke.

He smiled and nodded

"So, I'm tired. let's call it a night", I continued.

Xander replied, "hmm. Ok Good night"

Then he turned to leave while I went ahead and laid down on the bed.

"Yeah, it's definitely gonna be a Good night.

But where are you going?", I asked him

He stopped hearing my words and turned around to reply

"To sleep in my room?", he replied.

"Oh?", I replied back.

"Why?", he asked

"Well, I thought you wanted to stay the night", I replied with a smile.

As soon as he heard my words, a wide smile spread on his face and his eyes twinkled as well. I patted on the left side of the bed and signaled him to come over.

"You can sleep here tonight", I told him.

He rushed and laid down next to me, facing me

"You really know how to make my heart race already.", he spoke.

"Ohhh, I'm just getting started. With time you'll get to know everything", I replied with a smirk.

"I'll definitely be awaiting that", he replied.
