The next morning, we wake up and start packing our things. I feel a bit off this morning. I’m sure leaving Aiden is the cause of it. It’s almost unheard of a mate leaving without the other. I am super grateful to be able to go back home for a while, I know this is hard for him. He hasn’t said much this morning. As we make our way to the common building to have breakfast one last time, it’s an uneasy silence. I clear my throat, “Hey, I wrote down my phone number for you. So you can contact me anytime you need too.” I say as I hand him the paper. He looks at it and then at me, it looks like he didn’t sleep at all last night. He has dark circles under his eyes, and his eyes are a dull blue. I pang of guilt crashes through me, I reach for him and grab ahold of my arm and pulls me into a hug
