Giuseppe slowly woke up, feeling a sharp pain in his chest. As he opened his eyes, he realized he was no longer in the room where Vittorio had shot him, but rather in a hospital room. He tried to sit up in bed, but a deep male voice interrupted him.
"Don't do that."
He looked towards the voice and found Angelo Messina sitting in a chair, his elbows resting on the armrests and his hands clasped in the air. Giuseppe furrowed his brow, confused, and asked with difficulty, "What are you doing here, Messina?"
Messina smiled with a certain cynicism and replied, "I came to see how the man who took a bullet from Vittorio Amorielle is recovering. It's interesting to see you alive after what happened. I bet you'll have an easier time peeing... They say two holes are better than one."
