Ellis stood at the gate of Dalton School, embracing Donna as she said goodbye before letting her enter the school. She stroked her daughter's hair and asked softly, "Darling, do you prefer me to pick you up today, or daddy?"
Donna looked at her mother with a thoughtful gaze. "I'll give Daddy a chance this time, but tell him that doesn't mean I've forgiven him. I'm just looking at if he really deserves forgiveness."
Ellis smiled with pride at his daughter's wit. "I'll tell him exactly that."
After sharing a kiss, Donna entered the school, and Ellis turned, ready to leave. However, she accidentally bumped into the muscular chest of the man behind her. She quickly looked up, surprised, lips already parted to apologize, when she found herself gazing into the dark eyes of Amorielle.
