-Rose Dern-
Today's the day of the interview.
At the moment, my body was in a medley of excitement and nervousness.
How would it go? Would the interviewer be nice? Would I get the job?
Hopefully my appearance would be a bonus point.
I decided to wear one of the fancy dresses I bought when I went shopping with Suzy. That was while Eri was on her honeymoon.
“I'm a billion percent certain you'll get the job.” Suzy's tone was so certain, I had to wonder why.
Even I wasn't sure what today's outcome would be.
That was something I would've asked her about if my phone didn't start vibrating.
I reached for it where it lay on my bed, a little surprised when Eri’s name flashed on the screen.
Why was she calling? Well, there's only one way to find out.
“Sup babe.” Her glee filled tone greeted me as I answered the call.
“What's up with you? You won a lottery or what?” I was brushing my hair in front of an obviously expensive large mirror.
“Is Suzy there?”
“Yeah.” I placed it on speaker so Suzy could hear what she had to say too.
“Well Suzy, Rose and Hane,” though it was not a video call, I could tell she was grinning from ear to ear and Hane was probably beside her, “I think I've figured out that I'm actually into Don.”
“Wow, really?” Finally she'd admitted it.
It would be a really nice thing for them to fall in love.
So my friend would be with a multi billionaire.
That thought left me excited for her and equally awed.
Eri who couldn't buy a bag of her own was now married to a wealthy man who probably owned hundreds of houses all over the world.
Wow.
“Really?” Hane also sounded surprised. “Since when? Wow, that's so nice.”
“Awwn, how did you finally admit to it?” Suzy asked, also seeming happy.
“Well yesterday he took me out and we shared a beautiful kiss on the rooftop of a really tall building.” I could sense her happiness and that just made me happy.
“So romantic.” I chuckled. “I wish I could listen more about your love story but I have an interview to attend.”
“You do? Where?” She sounded like she already knew the answer, I had no idea why she bothered asking.
“At Stan's international.” I continued brushing my hair.
“Wow that's so nice, maybe your story might end up like mine, a secretary fell in love with her boss and they got married. So romantic.” Although she had just said it as a joke, it made my heart beat faster at the possibility.
“Well bye.”

I headed into the extremely huge company I was surprised Darien owned.
It was so huge, I wondered if I'd ever be able to know my way round the whole place.
But at least there was a receptionist stand, so that was a good place to start. “Hi, good morning.”
“Good morning.” A female, probably of similar age to me, replied with a sweet smile. “How may I be of help?”
“I'm here for the interview as a personal assistant.”
“Your name please.”
“Rose Dern.” I noticed a little glint in her eyes at the sound of my name.
“Keep going straight and turn left, you'll see an elevator then go to the twentieth floor. The first door you see is where you're heading.”
“Okay, thank you.” I was about to leave when she stopped me.
“Please write your name here.“
“Okay.” I picked the pen beside the register book, writing my name where it's supposed to be and the time, then dropped it when I was done.
After a small nod, I followed all her directions, and was now standing in front of a very beautiful door.
With a few deep breaths to calm my nervous self, I gave the door a slight knock.
“Come in.” My heart skipped a beat when I recognized that voice.
Was Darien the person who'd interview me? I thought it'd be someone else.
This was of no help in calming my racing heart.
But I was able to muster all the courage to open the door, closing it as soon as I was in.
This was no interview room, I was in his office.
His office was huge, beautiful, and perfect. I loved it.
The floor-to-ceiling walls held a beautiful view, only making the office more comfortable looking.
My gaze landed on him where he was sitting on his desk with a laptop on the table in front of him.
He stood up when I walked in, a bright smile on his face. “Rose, it's so nice to see you.”
I had no idea where my voice had traveled to so I just smiled.
“Please have your seat.” He gestured for me to sit on one of the two chairs opposite his chair which I did.
Not like I could say anything.
Then he sat also.
“I didn't think you'll be the one doing the interview.” I said truthfully when I'd finally found my voice.
“Well, the person who's supposed to do the interview lost her mom yesterday and I knew she needed to take some time off work to clear her head so that's why I'm here.”
Oh no, my voice was gone again.
What was wrong with me? I hoped he wouldn't notice my chest rising and falling rapidly.
He stared at me, probably expecting me to say something but I was too nervous to talk.
“Are you okay?” When he stood up, rushing to stay beside me wearing a worried expression, I realized I must look terrible.
My heart had overtaken me.
What was going on? I'd never been this nervous about a job interview.
He passed me a glass of water I didn't know was on the table.
“Here, just calm down.”
I took the cup from him with trembling hands, gulping all the water. I've never hated myself as much as I did today.
He'll obviously not grant me the job.
This is my first time doing a job interview and not getting accepted without even saying a word.
“I'm sorry.” I had no idea how that came out of my mouth but I was certain nothing was coming out of that mouth again.
“It's okay.” He pondered on something for a while before smiling at me. “I do need a personal assistant really urgently so, you get the job.”
“I do?” So now words can come out of my mouth.
Stupid.
I stood up, not minding the fact we were inches apart. “Thank you so much sir, I really appreciate. I promise to not let you down.”
His smile caused a fluttering in my heart. “Sir? Just call me by my name and I'm certain you won't let me down.”
This was my first time getting a job without saying a word to the interviewer.
Now I need to think about what happened to me.
I know I'm the type to get nervous in a crowded place and maybe in interviews but I've never been too nervous to say nothing.
What was wrong?
Could it be the office? Or the fact the company was huge and I assumed it wouldn't accept me?
Or…
Could it be the interviewer…
