-Eri Sunville-
“Are you sure you packed everything you're supposed to? I could've helped you pack, you know.” Hane said, walking beside me while Don was already in the car.
“I told you, I don't feel comfortable with you packing my stuff for me, you might be my personal assistant but you're also a friend. And I'm sure I packed everything.”
Truthfully, I wasn't sure if I had successfully packed everything.
My thoughts were occupied by the kiss, that I couldn't even think straight anymore.
The fact I enjoyed it was what I didn't understand. Was it because I liked him or just the kiss alone?
He was the first guy I'd ever kissed so maybe I didn't know the fun in kisses, that's why I felt that way.
A bodyguard held the door for me, which I entered, sitting comfortably beside Don who had his head burried on his phone.
The door closed and our car started moving.
“How do you feel?” He asked in a less stern tone, his focus still on the phone.
“Huh?”
“Does your chest or throat still hurt?”
“No.” Not after the kiss.
I wasn't even sure if I felt anything. It had overtaken it all.
That was all we said till we reached the airport.
We went into the plane which was still empty but made more sense since it was his private plane.
What wealth can do.
The ride back from Australia to New York was approximately 22 hours, not that I felt the time as I slept most of the way.
When we got out of the airport, there were a lot of media throwing their camera lights at us which still blindened me.
The bodyguards made way for us to pass and we did till we got to the car whose door was held for us.
“I wonder how the media got here by 6a.m.” The words left my mouth from my surprise, once the car had started moving.
“They'd do anything to satisfy the public, and of course the public want to know about the drowning anonymous fiancee.” The way he said it made me smile.
“My mom is coming for dinner tonight, so you should have some rest when we get home and prepare for the dinner.” He didn't sound stern or cold or like he wanted to feel superior or something.
He sounded like a man I'd like to be with and a man I'd want to get to know more about, I think.
Either way, this man was my husband.
My heart dropped when I remembered, this man was my husband for two years and it'd all be over with.
I wasn't sure why, but that realization left me feeling somewhat… empty inside.

“Eri! Eri! Wake up!” I felt Hane's hand hit my butt continuously but I was too deep in the sleep to respond.
I mean after staying in a plane for 22 hours, I needed to rest (ignore the fact I slept more than halfway in the plane).
When it didn't seem like she was going to leave me alone, I groaned my displeasure.
“What do you want Hane? I want to sleep.” My voice was sleepy, and I didn't bother opening my eyes.
“You want to sleep? You've been asleep for 7 hours, have you forgotten Mr Jones mom is coming.”
That made me jerk my eyes open, sitting up straight to see Hane standing beside the bed. “Oh no I forgot, what does the time say?”
“It's 4:39p.m which means they'll be here in twenty minutes.” Her hands lay on her hips.
“Twenty minutes?” I jumped off the bed. “What do I do? I have to dress, put on makeup, do my hair and every other thing that's needed, I won't be able to do it all in twenty minutes.”
I had no idea why I wanted to look and act good in front of Leila.
“Don't worry about anything, I've picked your clothes and I'll help with your hair and makeup.”
“Oh Hane,” I sauntered to her, throwing her into my arms which earned a giggle from her, “you're such a hero, how can I ever repay you.”
“You're already doing that with my salary.” She hugged me back.

Leila arrived exactly 5:09 p.m, she came with Violin who didn't seem pleased at all to see me.
“You look very beautiful dear.” Leila had commented, a sweet smile on her face.
“Thank you so much Leila, you also look splendid.” I wasn't lying, she looked like wealth threw up on her with all the obviously real gold she had on.
“Oh my, thank you.”
“Why don't we go to the dining table.” Don sounded bored of us complimenting each other.
The four of us went to the dining table which the maids had blessed with variety of foods and drinks.
We found our places on each chair of the twelve seater dining table.
Don at the head, me sitting on the first chair at his left side while Leila and Violin on the first two chairs at his right.
“Why don't we all start eating.” Don said and everyone complied, eating their food. I was sure we were not going to be able to finish this food.
“Eri,” Leila started, “you're married to our family now, do you mind letting us know a few things about your life.”
“Aunt Leila, she's just married to our family for two years,” Violin sounded irritated which was enough to make me list her out of my like-list.
“So?”
“So there's no need for us to know anything about her, I have no idea why we're even here.”
“Exactly,” Don spoke in that cold tone, “Violin, why are you here? I would have been happy if mom came alone.”
She scoffed. “Like I want to be here, she made me come.”
“That's enough.” Although she looked annoyed, her voice still came out sweet and calm.
“I'm here to talk to my daughter-in-law, it might just be a thing of two years but I think I want to know her for that two years.” She smiled at me and I just couldn't resist smiling back.
We talked for about two hours, she asked about my parents and I told them they're dead which she didn't ask any further about them considering how doleful it made me feel.
She asked if I had any other family member. I told her about Suzy and Rose and my uncle who lived in New York too with his wife.
His son was always a nuisance to him.
When I told her his son had bought his wife to their house and was living there, eating their food and not working, she burst into laughter.
It was a fun night and I was happy to see my mother-in-law.
I liked her a lot.
