“This week has been a lovely one, guys.” I told Suzy and Rose through the video call.
That wasn't a lie.
We'd never loved each other any less for the past week.
All we'd been doing was just talking, going to work and on walks, having s*x and talking some more.
I love him so much that if this is how the rest of my life would be, I'd happily stay this way.
“That's great, it's been good for me too. Darien doesn't overwork me and sometimes he just lets us talk.” Rose added with a slight blush.
“Awwn you too are finding someone to be with.” I teased, watching her cheeks redden even more.
“It's not like that actually.” Her low tone proved her wrong.
“Suzy, it's your turn to find your man, you're not getting any younger.” My tone came out more mother-like than intended.
“I'm not into that yet, until my full recovery I think I'm just going to stay single for the moment.” Suzy was brushing her hair when she spoke.
“Eri, we both finally decided to share separate rooms. I think she's well enough to take care of herself.” Rose said.
“Really? Well then that's okay, it's not like she's a child or something.” Although I didn't like their decision, I had to respect it.
Suzy's twenty one and not two years of age so I shouldn't treat her like one.
She'd probably not like it.
“When's your radiation therapy?” I asked, fiddling with my hair.
I really couldn't wait for her to be completely healed.
“In two weeks time.”
“Maybe we can go on a trip afterwards.” Rose suggested.
“Hmm, you're right. We can probably go to Australia or Canada in about a months’ time or two months.” I was sure they'd be happy to be in Australia, it's a nice place to be.
“Or we can travel to Switzerland, I heard it's a really beautiful place to be in.” Rose added, seeming blissed out about the idea.
Hane walked in without knocking, not like that mattered, a grin planted on her lips.
“I'll call you guys later.” I waved at them before hanging up.
“I'm sorry for just entering like that.” She still had her smile on.
“It's okay, you're a friend not just any random person.” I sat straight on the bed. “You seem blissful, what's up?”
“Oh, nothing much.” I could detect from her smile it was something much.
I folded my arms across my chest. “Come on, spill it out.”
Her smile had gotten wider. “I've wanted to tell this to someone since I heard it, but I guess I didn't have anyone to tell it to.”
“Come on, tell me. What are friends for if we can't share good and bad news amongst ourselves.”
“Well, my elder sister's boyfriend just proposed to her this morning and they'll be getting married soon.” Her grin was literally from ear to ear.
She looked close to exploding from excitement.
“Really?” I stood up, while she ran to throw her arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug.
“Yes. She's getting married finally, I'm so happy for her.”
The glee in her tone made me chuckle.
“Wow, can I come too?”
She pulled apart, staring at me with raised brows. “You'd do that?”
“Yeah, when's the date?”
Her shoulders pulled to a shrug. “They haven't decided on it yet, but I'll certainly tell you when it's been decided. Thanks a lot for deciding to come along.”
“It's not a problem. I didn't know you had siblings. I just guessed you were an only child.”
She chuckled again. “No, I have an older sister who's thirty years of age.”
“Wow, that's a lot of age difference.”
“Yes, her name's Kate and she's been dating this guy for the past nine years. He hadn't ever given her a ring till today and now she's finally going to get married. I'm so happy.“
“I understand why you're happy.”
Nine years was very far to date someone. “I most certainly must come to this wedding.”

“I need a massage, my head hurts from watching so many movies.” Don said while I sat on the sofa beside him in the first parlor.
“Don't be dramatic, we only watched two romance movies.” My head rested on his shoulder as I spoke.
“Yeah. Two whole movies. You know how much I hate watching them but you made me watch two.” He shook his head dramatically. “Gosh, I need a massage.”
With an eye roll, I craned my head up at him. “Okay I'll give you a head massage you drama king.”
I pulled my hands to his head, massaging it lightly.
It wasn't comfortable for me and he seemed to have sensed it, because he pulled me to sit on his lap so I could massage it better.
“You're such a weird guy.” I liked the feeling of his hair on my fingers as I ran my hand through it.
“Why?”
“The way you transitioned from being the mean boss who hated anyone coming late to this sweet man that likes receiving a head massage from his secretary.”
He chuckled. “That's what love can do to you dear.”
His arms wrapped round my waist, earning a giggle from me. “Let go of me, else I won't be able to massage your head properly.”
“Sorry love.”
The sound of the doorbell distracted us, but I was too comfortable on his laps to want to move.
Since neither of us had any plans of leaving our positions, we just waited till a maid walked over to open the door.
A look of shock swept past her expression as she stared at whoever had rang the bell.
“Good afternoon, I'm looking for a Don Jones.”
My eyes widened.
That voice was familiar, why was that voice familiar?
I heard heels clicking on the floor towards our direction.
That clicking was familiar, why was that clicking familiar?
“Hi Don.”
My breath seized as I turned to the direction of the last person I'd ever expected to see in my life.
The one person I thought I was no longer going to hear a word from her again.
“June?”
