The fears that haunt us.

The door swung open and Red walked into the room, I guess she's in my class, ''hi again'' I smiled, goddess I wanted to look cool but that was lame as hell. What the hell is up with me?? "Cute" she looked me up and down before rolling her eyes away, hey cute ill definitely take it. I started doing a little happy dance before I realised she was still watching a little snort escaped her lips and nose as she began laughing at my very cool little dance moves "you really can't dance, kid" she said in between sultry giggles. I stood up feigning hurt, I stalked over to her dramatically putting mere inches between us "I can so dance" I pulled a ridiculously awful stern face. Red was still in a small fit of giggles, her smile spreading nearly her entire face, her cheeks chubby and high with tears in her eyes. She had no laugh lines on her face, and looked uncomfortable with her giggles, it's nice to see her happy I assume she doesn't get to be a normal person most of the time, being an Alpha must be stressful.

Her giggles faded slowly, only inches separated us, there are a few things running through my head not all were acceptable for school. "Hey, can I ask you something?" being next in line for Alpha I've always had questions and worries but I couldn't ask my dad, he'd strip me of my post for weakness.

''yes it is difficult being an alpha, but it comes naturally, its instinct. You have no reason to fear becoming an alpha just trust yourself and your pack.....'' she was cut off as the door swung open

''Miss Tyler, are you joining my class today?'' The woman (who I guessed was the teacher) spoke with a sharp tone I felt a growl in my throat as she spoke like that to Red, ''yes I think I will join your class today miss, I didnt get much sleep last night so I'm hoping this will help" a fake smile plastered it's self on to Redd' face, oh shes got attitude, this woman is a dream.

''I will not be spoken to in that tone of voice you pathetic excuse for a lady'' the growl in my throat escaped through my lips before I could control it,the teacher stared at me in shock.''Did you just growl at me boy?!?!?'' It was obvious she was angry but she shouldnt of spoke to Red like that, shes an amazing woman, just because she doesnt have glasses painted on the end of her nose doesnt make her pathetic.

''Yes I did, you got a problem with that?'' With out a second thought my legs started moving me towards her, the womans eyes looked hollow, dead,like someone had removed the happiness from them ''DETENTION BOTH OF YOU!!!!!'' I clutched my ears to stop them ringing,so did Red stupid super hearing ''NOW SIT DOWN!!!!'' She was still yelling and my ear drums vibrated from her voice, but we both did what she asked and sat down. The teacher walked to the door telling students off for the slightest imperfections. Well im not going to enjoy this lesson

''When you're alpha no matter when it is whether its in a week or hundreds of years just remember you cant protect everyone and you'll be a great alpha to any pack I give you my word'' Red finished what she had been telling me before the old lady from hell interrupted, then glanced at her watch ''cover your ears'' I quickly did although I had no idea.........RINGGG!!!........ The bell rung telling people to get to their lessons.

I uncovered my ears once the bell stopped ''thank you'' I stole a glance at Red to see her staring intently at the door her deep eyes unblinking, taking one sniff at the door I immediately knew why she was staring 'ROUGE' my wolf hissed, the heavy wooden door swung open and the rancid smell of rouge filled my nostrils.

He stated in my direction, trying to get a read on me, he nodded before making his way over to my and Red ''morning beautiful'' he whispered to Redd's ear I felt another growl creep its way up my throat, he was way too close to her, why was she letting him that close? DAMN! How could I have been so easily mislead by her of course she was a rouge she didnt smell like the rest of her pack she smelled of the woods like rouges do, ofcourse she's one of them! I mentally slapped myself for my stupidity, blinded by a pretty face and amazing body.

Suddenly I felt something jab my mental link (the way all wolves connect through thought and can speak to eachother) 'I wasnt lying to you, im not a rouge...He is' my jaw clenched tight he was a rouge and he was touching her 'he doesn't know im a wolf' she continued playing nice her fists balled so tightly they were white 'if he finds out who or what I am he'd kill my boys. I hide my scent best I can to keep them safe and learn about his operations' she flashed a casual smile in my direction "Greg, this is one of the new kids he's..." The rogue, Greg, cut her off.

"Hush your pretty little head, Red" he didn't even glance at her, luckily, because Red was shooting the most brutal eye daggers I'd ever seen.

"Hi, Greg" I barely managed to stop from spitting his name, must be civil, I held out my hand in a friendly gesture

"Don't even try it, pup. I know what you are, mutt" Greg turned and played a kiss on Reds cheek then went and sat by the window 'WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT HE KISSED YOU DO YOU GO OUT WITH HIM,THATS IT ISNT IT YOU AND LITTLE ROUGE BUDDY WHAT ABOUT YOUR PACK!!!!!!!!! YOURE NO WOLF!!!' That might of been a bit harsh but she was betraying her pack, I HATE rouges! Scum of the earth and shes just as bad if shes with one of them, no matter how amazing she seems.

'You ever say that again, I will not hesitate to kill you' Redds alpha voice boomed through my head her anger covered but strong. 'No we dont go out he did that for one reason, to piss you off and I am not betraying anyone except myself. Im doing this to protect them, he doesnt go near our house or them so he never knows what we are.' She took a deep breath externally her chest rising slowly with each inhale. 'I hate this guy, but I HAVE to keep my boys safe, whatever the cost. And if that cost is me. Then I shall pay it, so keep your opinions to yourself' she shot me a slight glare over the room, 'And if you EVER say im betraying my pack again. You will loose something. Preferably your head!' Redd gave me a total death glare,s**t thats scary (but kind of sexy on her) she got up then sat next to the rouge again I felt a growl in my throat what the hell 'YOUR MATE STUPID!!!!' My wolf barked back 'you could of said something sooner!!!' My mate is sitting with a freaking rouge almost on que the rouge turned around 'Red is my girl and I plan to mate her so BACK OFF!!'' He turned back to the front smiling at Red, his arm draped over the back of her chair like she was some kind of possession he owned. MATE HER?? My head went into complete scatter mode. I know hes only trying to mess with me, but...but what if hes serious?? What if...

'RED HE PLANS TO MATE YOU, YOU HAVE TO GET AWAY FROM HIM!' My heart was pumping just at the thought of the rouge mating with her 'calm down he wont get near enough to me to mate me and besides Greg doesnt want to hurt me since im just a little girl' I felt her smile but I knew it was forced, shes scared, and shes lying.

'You...You wouldnt let him mate you would you?' my heart was in my mouth she wouldnt do that not for her pack, 'Red would you let him do that??' I could feel sweat on my face 'answer me Red' her eyes flashed red 'You dont get to give me orders. Im an Alpha remember. Not you' ok, maybe that was a bit out of order for me to say we have just met. Oh god, I'm being so weird aren't I? She must be wondering how delusional I am. Deep breath man, deep breath.

'sorry, but... would you?' I was sure she could hear my heart pounding in my chest, as I waited for her reply. Putting her head down she whispered to me 'if it would keep my boys safe from the rouges then I'd give up my own damn soul. For them.' Her voice wavered slightly, for the rest of the lesson we sat in silence, I kept my head down ''cover your ears'' she said to the rouge but loud enough for me to hear me and the rouge covered our ears but Red didn't. ***RINGGGG***. The rouge kissed her on the cheek again then raced out of the Room, Reds eyes were pricked with tears ''hey you ok?'' she didnt look at me instead she grabbed her stuff and ran out.

REDDS PROV:

Greg was 'thought talking' to Blake I knew exactly what he was saying but I didnt do anything- how could I, without revealing myself? Once they finished Greg turned to me "Hey babe you know I love you right,well I think we should mate, but only if you want to, but I do truly love you." He tripped over his words as he tried to muddle through the worst mating request I'd ever witnessed "I don't need an answer now, just think on it. I've got to go take care of some kid in the music block he's one of those young ones you help out but I swear he's a wolf. Watch yourself" The bell rang, Greg ran out of the class I knew my face had paled as tears pricked my eyes,who did he figure out was a wolf? Gabriel, Teddy, Alan, Charlie, Harry, Gavin, Nathan, Nick, Joey, Ron, Addison, Brayton, Terris, Elliot, Patch, Jules, Devon, Kim.......JEREMY ''hey you ok?'' Blake was by my side but I didnt have time I had to find Jeremy first running out the class I tried to sniff out Jeremy which wasnt easy in this puberty infested hell. The faint smell of honey and pine needles made me feel safe. My legs bound for the doors,sure enough Jeremy was there but Greg wasnt far behind him 'JEREMY RUN. NOW JEREMY!!! THATS AN ORDER!!!' Jeremy ran in the direction of the school and Greg slowly started to speed up, sprinting after him, please Jeremy come on please I cant lose you.

...............FLASHBACK..............

''Red can I go for a run outside please!?'' James begged me clinging to my leg with his puppy eyes ''ok but just around this part of the woods no further ok?'' I looked at him sternly

''Yes Red! Thank you sissy!!'' James ran out so fast it was impossible to see him, daft kid. I continued to try and fix the cabinets and cupboards that had broken in a spat between the boys

''Hey Red.....'' Jeremy stopped in his tracks

''You smell that?'' I looked at Jeremy fear clouded his eyes

''ROUGES!!'' We both hissed, that murky smell that made us all sick to our stomach. My entire body suddenly froze. James.

''Jeremy keep the boys safe James is in the forest I have to go get him'' Jeremy couldnt argue as I was gone in a heart beat. The smell of rouges was deep in the air, I took another sniff, more than one of them quite a few more, James scent was mixed in with them... they have him! My wolf burst through my mind and I let it I had to get James, following his scent I heard a cry not of pain or terror but of loneliness and disbelief my ears tuned in, my paws light on the forest floor just like my dad taught me ''your alphas dead little boy and the rest of your pack,'' a deep, smoker like cough echoed through the forest I sneered at that. I didnt need to hear any more I leapt out of the trees

''LEAVE THE BOY!!'' My alpha voice made the rouges eyes flash with fear but they quickly recovered, gripping James' little body tighter his eyes squeezing shut

''THE BOY IS OURS UNLESS YOU WISH TO DIE FOR HIM!?'' One of the rouges yelled at me, I hesitated. I have an entire pack to take care of...But...

''NO ALPHA!! PLEASE'' James yelled at me tears in his eyes ''DONT DIE FOR ME PLEASE RED'' his tiny voice was cracking with the tears he shead, tears were in my eyes too 6 years old and accepting death. No way, just no he's a kid. Hes just a baby, only recently turned, he cant! Hes like my little brother! I stretched my arms out for him praying for a miracle

''FINE THE BOY DIES!'' The rouge screeched at me, finally pulling me back to the world, James screeched in turn, his eyes burning through me as he silently pleaded to survive

''RED!'' His little voice rang in my ears but was replaced my an ear bursting scream, limbs tearing as his little screams burrowed deep into my head, becoming my nightmares. The rouges moved apart, letting me see the little boy his body was bloody and scratched deeply, they had pulled his head from his body tears flowing from my eyes. One of the rouges let out a loud laugh ''6 years old he was, a baby compared with you. A scared, little, innocent sweet boy and you murdered him for sport,'' I didnt raise my voice but the menace behind my words was clear. Without thinking I launched myself at those rouges, my rage blinding me as I tore through body after body, they killed him. THEY KILLED HIM! The tears in my eyes began to blind me, the trees becoming brown and green blurs as the dark murky sky melted into the ground.

''You let a member of your pack die for your own life, you are no wolf'' with that he was gone his words branding into my mind, no wolf... Jeremy came to me a few seconds later his hair sticking to his forehead with sweat

''I-I-Im sorry Jeremy I s-s-s-should o-o-o-of protect-t-ted him'' my arm brushed the dead little boys face pushing his short hair away from his angelic face ''and im sorry I let you down James'' my arms were gripped by Jeremy, slowly he pulled me back from the body.

''There was nothing you could of done Redd,im sorry I should of came to find him', but he was my responsibility. Not yours. Jeremy hugged me.

''I will never let that happen again no one will ever get hurt again not as long as im in charge of this pack'' I pushed Jeremy back, my head to the stars, my tears slipping down my cheeks.

6 years old and ripped to shreds because I hesitated. NO never again if I ever find that rouge i'll put his head on a stick I swear it to you James he will pay for your death...

........ END OF FLASHBACK........

Gabriel had informed me that Greg hadnt got to Jeremy but I still couldnt concentrate.Blake kept following me around in class staring at me when he thought I wasnt looking,even when the bell went for lunch Blake and the rest of the pack were giving me looks following me where ever I went.

''WHY THE HELL ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME!?!?!?!?'' Blake was about 5 feet behind me,he had been following me for 15 minutes thinking I hadnt spotted him

'' Im not following you!'' he retorted back but it was obvious he was lying

''Fine but tell your pack if they dont want to lose a member to stop following me like they have been all day!!'' I have been shouting alot today ''oh and that includes you'' I gave him a sarcastic smile then went to see the boys.

''Red that John guy asked me to ask you if you were available for saturday at 8:00 for a movie,'' Harry looked really embarrassed about that, all the boys hate that other guys ask them if id go on a date with them its always the same answer ''over my dead body'' they all laughed ''you guys know you're my boys, no human will ever take me away'' Harry, Gabriel, Patch and Jules all bear hugged me ''guys I like breathing so loosen the hug'' they squeezed me tight once more then released me ''fresh air''.
