The dream was different tonight. Sari felt it the moment she arrived—the air clearer, the light brighter, the colours deeper. The sky was blue. Pale blue, almost white. The buildings had lost their sharp edges. He was waiting for her. She walked toward him. “What happened?” she asked. “I don't know.” “The city—it's different.” “It's clearer.” “More than clear.” She stopped in front of him. “I can see everything.” His face—she could see his face. Every detail. The grey-blue of his eyes, the small scar on his chin, the faint lines at the corners of his mouth. “I can see you,” she said. “I can see you too.” His voice was closer. Clear. Warm.
