Magdalena did not waste any time taking everyone to the council. She gave them time to go and change their outfits, all of them except for Edna, whom she held in her home and asked a servant to go to her cottage and get the lady something decent to wear. Magdalena did not trust that Edna would not run away, given the magnitude of the trouble she was in. Since Edna was now her ward, the burden was on Magdalena to deliver Edna to the council upon request.
"I will not run away, Magdalena," Edna tried to convince her, but the mage would not have it.
