The woman sat across from Magdalene, and Edna got up to excuse them. It had been a long time since they sold farm produce, so it was obvious the woman wasn't from around there. Edna was suspicious about the woman, and if she was still in charge, she wouldn't have been receptive at all, but Magdalena was different and more tolerant than she was. Edna gracefully excused herself and went back to the library. On her way there, she stopped by Boyce's office.
He was working attentively on the computer. She locked his office and stepped inside.
Boyce looked up at her and immediately became annoyed.
"Why won't you just give it a try? You might end up liking it." She teased him and went to sit on the desk in front of him.
"Leave my office, Edna," Boyce told her, getting impatient.
