The Sprite's abode was decent. Nothing out of the ordinary. Everything there was made of twigs, branches, trunks, leaves, name it. If it was found in the wild, then Hill had a piece of furniture or item made of it in his cabin.
Hill selected fruits that were unknown to Alison and gave them to her to eat.
"Eat this. It's safe for humans," he said, handing her the plate. Alison took it, disregarding everything she had heard about the fae folk from the old woman. Following the woman's instructions, no one was ever to eat or drink anything given by the fae. Alison had thrown caution to the wind the moment she had woken up in the dark forest. The worst had happened. She doubted if there was anything worse than dying.
Hill sat across from her with concern.
"You don't know?" he asked her curiously.
"Know what?" she asked, still shaken by her memories of her could-have-been deaths.
"What and who are you?" he asked curiously.
Alison just shook her head and began to eat the fruit.
Hill thought this time around would be different. He would pretend not to know her long enough till she awakened, but he wondered how long that would be.
Hill's instructions were simple. In every lifetime, he was to wait for her in the dark forest. When she arrived, he was to help her awaken. Unlike Dinah, who got reborn without her memories, Hill's case was different. He got reborn with all his memories intact. Dinah had created him solely for that purpose. He was once human. Dinah had found him in one of her lifetimes after she had awakened and had begun to regain her memories. He was on the verge of death, so she gave him a new life, and in exchange, he was to serve her. She had tied his life to hers, so he died every time she did, but the gift of memories that she gave him would always be reborn with him. She was the one that had sent him to the dark forest to live amidst her worshipers. He was vital to her as his sole duty was to help her remember before she awakes.
The reason she failed all the time was that she always awoke before remembering. Because of that issue, she ended up making the same mistakes and dying. Everything had happened the same way over and over again for the past one hundred and seven reincarnations since he was created. This time was different. She had arrived at dark fae earlier than usual; she was not awakened, she could not remember who or what she was, and her lover wasn't with her. His worry started to increase when he realised they might be on a different path.
Hill stood up to make a comfortable spot for her in his cabin when they heard a crash sound from outside.
"What was that?" Alison asked, nervously looking toward the outside.
"Let me check," Hill said. He went out to check. He left the cabin door open so Alison could see him. When he stepped out, he saw nothing. He looked around, listening, trying to pick out the faintest sound or sight, but he did not see or hear anything. The coast was clear. The dark forest never had sunlight, so he had to depend on what the natural light illuminated and his night vision in an extremely dark place.
"The coast is clear," he called out to assure Alison of their safety. The moment he turned, he was immediately tied up and pulled to the ground by a thick rope that came from behind him.
Hill tried to wiggle out of it, but the more he tried, the tighter the rope held him in place. With his ear to the ground, he heard their footsteps. Some creatures had come for them.
Hill had expected this. Dinah had arrived dark fae as a human. She looked like a human, and no being could sense her supremacy. To the creatures, she was just prey, and they had come to catch her.
Alison began to scream when she saw Hill tied up. He had warned her about the danger, but she had followed him for safety.
"Get the human!" one of the creatures ordered, and goblins entered the cabin.
"You are making a mistake!" Hill warned, lying on the floor. The leader of the herd walked up to him and kicked his face. There was a crunch sound, and Hill felt the pain in his nose.
The goblins tied Alison up with the same kind of rope they had tied Hill up with and carried her away.
Back at the settlement...
"We have to go and bring her back," Abel told Edna. Boyce was already gathering his bears to leave. The people in the settlement knew something had happened. Although they weren't told anything, they knew the exit of a group meant a falling out had taken place.
Edna was broken by Boyce's decision to leave. He had acted completely differently from what she had anticipated. She thought his loyalty was to her, but he had now made it clear. His loyalty was first to his people, then to others. Edna felt a rage build up within her. How could a bear make her feel this vulnerable? This wasn't the first time she would lose a lover, and this wouldn't be the last. She knew she had to knock him out of her mind and get things together. She doubted if the god could find her way back from fae, but if she ever did, she would want to be ready. Edna decided she needed to go on a knowledge-seeking vacation. She needed the knowledge to defeat the god if it ever came to that.
"Enough!" Edna yelled at Abel. "I can do as I please. My actions were to protect our settlement. I can never regret that. You can either support me or leave," she said. Abel growled at her. His eyes flashed silver. He felt an angry shift coming; his wolf was enraged. To avoid the chaos it could bring, he stormed out of the room.
Edna's heart sank some more. Had she lost the wolves too? Yes, they were replaceable, but finding a replacement took time. Edna immediately sent for Marcus, the leader of the feline shifters.
Marcus came into the office without making a sound. His stealth was remarkable, but Edna knew he had entered.
Marcus, like the other Alphas, was built to perfection. He was handsome, and his fair skin was flawless. He did not have battle scars, and that was mainly because he was a lucky tiger. His crimson eyes were unsettling, and he used them well. His hair was orange in colour. Most people believed he dyed it, but that was his natural hair colour.
"Can you tell me what the commotion is about? Boyce is leaving.." he said, and Edna looked at him and sighed.
Not ready to have any serious conversation and risk losing him too, she walked up to him and admired his physic. Then they began to kiss. She ripped off his shirt and whispered in his ears.
"Make me feel good, and I will tell you," and licked his earlobe. Electricity coursed through Marcus when her hot tongue licked his earlobe.
He picked her up and placed her on the desk; his member was already hard and ready. She unbuttoned her blouse while he reached underneath her skirt and ripped her panties. Their kiss became furious and primal. He rubbed her core with his fingers, and she moaned, then he continued to rub it with a steady motion. The pleasures coursed through her rapidly in different flavours. She was already in the clouds when she felt him fill her up. She moaned. All her troubles and her fears were far away now. Too far for her to feel. He began to pump, and she responded. Slowly she began to feel the pressure build-up, and before she could rhyme her motion with his, the pressure burst into sparks of pleasurable high on which she rode for a while. That was just the beginning of the night they would have together. Marcus picked her up and took her to the room for them to continue...
