Chapter Twenty-Three ROWAN Mae made us pancakes for breakfast. They were light and fluffy, and she sprinkled chocolate chips on them. The fact that she remembered I loved chocolate chip pancakes was more sweet than bitter. But there was definitely a tinge of bitter because I'd missed seven years with her. Obviously, I couldn’t predict how things would’ve turned out, but I was pretty sure we would have stayed together. I loved her already.
