The sunlight seeps through the school’s window. It was already almost seven and the sun was now slowly hiding. A guy runs around the halls as he breaths heavily. He look around to any rooms that were not locked by grabbing the doorknob of each door in the room. Suddenly a clang of metal was heard approaching him. This made him halt for a moment. He can feel his cold sweats break down onto his face. He gulps when he heard footsteps, ‘I’m done for
Meanwhile on that afternoon, Family Collin’s house. Neveah was swerving her chair in a circular motion while sitting on it and gazing at the glow-in-the-dark stars in her room. She was having troubling in getting her homework done. The lazy feeling carpet around her as she blew a raspberry without any reason. She stopped serving when she felt dizzy. She walks around to her window and opens it. Opposite on the road was the Dewin’s Family house and next to it was the Eastwood’s house. She leaned her chin on his head staring a the two houses. Suddenly he saw Lucas getting out of their house with his brother in hand. They were talking and Lucas was behavior made Neveah widen his eyes. He was currently teasing his brother. Neveah thought that this guy in front of her was not the same delinquent asshole back in school. Lucas’s smile was wide as he played with his brother, teasing him by hugging him and ruffling his hair. His attitude was completely different from the attitude he showed in school and this made Neveah’s assumption half right. Neveah was not entirely sure because she thinks that maybe he just acts like that with his family, only to his family, which will probably explain his delinquent behavior. ‘Two-faced?’
The next day, Neveah was waiting inside Dewin’s Family dining room eating breakfast. She sometimes did this when his father was busy and can’t make breakfast. Even so, Neveah was gladly welcome in their house. Neveah was casually munching her cereal down when Larcade went down the stairs slowly. Neveah stared at him and mimicked the slowness of Larcade’s step on her chewing. Her eyes were wide and curious about the facial expression Larcade has. He was somewhat troubled. And, even if Larcade hasn't approached her yet she can still see the grinding of his teeth. ‘When he grinds his teeth that means somethings troubling him,’ Neveah then swallowed before clearing her throat to gain her cousin’s attention but it was no use. Larcade was still deep in thought. “Larcade?”
The moment Neveah opened her mouth the said guy flinched and missed a step that resulted in him falling onto the stairs. This alarmed Neveah and quickly helped him. Athena was also rushing out from the kitchen to see what it was. “Are you okay? What were you thinking that you can’t even notice my presence?!” Neveah scolded him while helping him get up. “Larcade, are you okay?” Her mother, Athena said with a worried look, “You didn’t bump your head don’t you?”Athena asked and both females had the same memories when they heard if Larcade hit his head. Larcade then smiled at both of them. “Yeah, I’m fine. I’m sorry that I made you worry,” He said while rubbing his hair. Athena stared at his son before sighing. “Okay, but next time be careful.” Larcade nods at his mother's statement. He then noticed Neveah stare at him and chuckled, reassuring her that he’s fine.
They were at the table. Larcade makes his cereal and Neveah continues eating. “Is there a problem, Lar?” Neveah asked which made Larcade drop his spoon into the bowl. “No, No nothing is wrong!” He smiled but Neveah didn't falter. Larcade avoids Neveah’s eyes and grins his teeth. Neveah noticed this and “Aha!” She shouted while smalling the table. This made Larcade flinch. “Something’s wrong. You would never grind your teeth if there's none!” Neveah leaned into him while pointing. Larcade panic and was about to make an excuse when a knock on the door was heard. “Mrs. Dewin?” A muffled voice was heard. Both cousins slowly panned their heads at the door. After a moment of silence, Larcade then quickly stood up to get to the door but Neveah was able to stop him by pulling his shirt. They began pulling Larcade’s shirt as if they were playing tug of war.
“Goodness, what’s wrong with you two? There’s someone at the door!” Athena come out from the kitchen once again and glared at the two. Her glares made both of them behave. Athena opened the door and greeted a tall male. “Oh my! Come inside first!” Larcade heard his mother as he sat down on his chair while Neveah keep staring at him. “No, I insist Lucas!” When they heard the name both of their eyes widen at the same time and snapped in the direction of the door. There stood Lucas who had his eyes widen at the sight of his familiar classmates. “Oh, Lucas may I introduce you to my eldest son and my nephew, Larcade and Neveah!” Athena said with excitement. Lucas chuckled awkwardly and look at the woman, “I already know them Mrs. Dewin they’re my classmates.” Lucas said in a polite manner that both cousins were in disbelief. “Oh really? Why didn’t you tell me, Lar?!” Athena lightly smacked her son’s head.
“Lucas dear don't just stand there, sit here with my son and my nephew. The food would take a while!” Athena said beaming with joy. Larcade raised his brows at what his mother said. “Aunt Athena? What do you mean about food?” Neveah raised her hand as if she was in the classroom. “Oh, I promise Lucas that I will make his lunch!” Athena said going back to the kitchen. Both cousins panic, fearing that they will be left behind with the guy that they feared. Larcade stood up and follow his mother. Neveah could not take the opportunity to follow him because Larcade had already vanished. She sat down with her head hung low. “Ma? Why would you do that for him?” Larcade immediately said after arriving in the kitchen. “Why not? He’s a good kid!” Athen said organizing the food in a lunchbox. Her son watches as he neatly puts the meal. ‘That’s her favorite lunchbox. We can't even use that. This guy might be lucky,’ Larcade thought with a deadpan expression.
