Chapter 33: A journey ahead

“Now that they’re gone--My car!!” 

Lucas shouted in distress when he finally took in the who situation. He dashed to his ruined car. He touches it gently. His face is full of sadness and dismay. ‘I’m not gonna die because of this I’m gonna die because of my father. Oh, he's nagging, God if you can hear me, please help me!' He sobbed while he leaned his head to his car.

“Such a wuss.” Neveah stared at him blankly while Lucas go on to his dramatic phase. ‘He’s in love with his car.’ Neveah thought. Damian passed by her. Larcade and Neveah’s eyes follow Damian. He stands behind Lucas who is whispering nonsensual things to his car. He cringes. ‘What the hell is he doing?’ He thought. He ignored Lucas and put his hands on the ruined car. A yellow luminous light glows.

“Ack!” Lucas squints his eyes as the light hits his eyes. Lucas backed away but tripped and fall on his butt. After the light glows it disappears. Lucas adjust his vision and what met him made him tear up a little. 'Hallelujah!' His car that was once he was worried about was looking brand new again. He felt giddy inside and hug Damian’s leg to which Damian reacted disgustingly. He repeated saying thank you to him. He shooed him off by swinging his legs but the fire boy was so happy that he doesn’t care what he’s doing. 

“Let go of me,” Damian said with a stern voice. Neveah pulled Lucas's collar, separating him away from Damian.

“ Thank him properly you i***t,” Neveah said. Lucas swats his hands and regained his composure. 

“Thanks!” Lucas said with a grin. Damian reply with a smile. 

“ To be honest, your car looks so brand new. “Neveah leans her face on the car. No single scratch nor dust was evident. 

Larcade watch the three converse and smiled. ‘Good thing all of it was over.’ He thought but frown after. ‘But those situations will always come back, right?’ A sudden voice calls out behind him. He snapped his head. His heart beating faster. His eyes widen in horror. But nothing was there.

“Lar? You okay?” Neveah grabbed Larcade’s shoulder. Larcade flinched and accidentally slapped her hand. Neveah widened her eyes at his sudden behavior. Damian and Larcade caught the scene behind them. Neveah saw Larcade’es expression that she can’t help but frown at.

“Lar!” Neveah didn’t faze on the slap instead her thoughts were filled with worry on his cousin's horrified reaction. 'Di he sees something?'

“I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking straight.” Larcade put his palms on his head. Dizziness is slowly taking over him. Neveah steady her cousin.

“It seems using your magical ability took a toll against your body,” Damian said after walking to them. “Especially when you use it in force without awakening first.” Neveah looks at Damian. Her eyebrows clashed.

“Would he be okay?” After she said those words she stares at Larcade who was closing his eyes and touching his head.

“Yes, you do not need to worry,” Damian stated. They wait for Larcade to finally ease himself. The white lion walks to them. Ashmit towers over the four of them. Larcade, Lucas, Damian, and Neveah widen their eyes in close proximity. They were underneath perfectly on his jaw. ‘He can eat all of us in one mouthful.’

White smokes suddenly appear and poofed! Ashmit went from a big enormous lion into a cute floofball. Neveah accidentally let go of Larcade. He felt himself fall and his head impacted the ground. He immediately touches the part on his where it hurts. He said curses because of the throbbing pain. Somehow, his dizziness vanish. Neveah began to say sorry repeatedly. After they regain their composure they began to ready themselves to hi the road again. 

“I’m still in disbelief that those situations happened to us.” Neveah started. Damian and Larcade look at her. Lucas sat in the driveway. She recalled what happened an hour ago.

“Hell, Did I really just kick a supernatural being?!” Her voice was loud and laced with surprise as she cups both of her cheeks. Larcade stares at her and also recalls how Neveah beat the s**t out of Alex. ‘That was pretty cool, though.’ He said it in his head.

“ I punch one and even got my ass burned,” Lucas said after her. All of them fell silent. Their feelings the same. Bewilderment, confusion washed over them as they recall the scene where Lucas was literally on fire.

“ I don’t get it. How?” Neveah asked him.

“How did you do it? Like I know you’re basically a gorilla but accumulating a supernatural ability, that’s just insane. A fire one too! I would risk anything to get a fire ability!” Exclaimed Neveah.

“I find it strange too.” Neveah and Larcade move their head to look at Damian. He was having a serious moment. He was bothered by the idea of how he didn’t notice Lucas’s ability.

“Does Lucas have the same situation as Larcade? Is he some kind of secret sorcerer too that was kept in the dark by his family? And, has a powerful grandmother that died because of betrayal and she passes her powers to him to become her successor?” Neveah asked Damian. 'That's a lot of questions' She looks at him anticipating his answer.

“I would already know by now if he’s a sorcerer,” He paused for a second before locking eyes with Lucas in the rearview mirror, “ Are you a secret supernatural being that was kept from you by your family? Do you have a powerful grandmother that died because of betrayal and she passes her powers to you to become her successor  ” Damian asked his tone serious that Larcade can’t help but laugh. Damian and Neveah look at him with amazement. ‘It's the first time I made him laugh.’ Damian thought his eyes widen as he stared at a laughing Larcade.

“Not that I know of, no,” Lucas answered. He recalls his childhood down to his adulthood but he didn't find any unusual things his family hid from him.

“ So why can you turn into a flaming bastard?” Neveah said.

“I’m insulted on the fact that you call me a flaming bastard, peabrain,” Lucas said with a blank expression.

“I’m curious, If there’s a Great sorcerer,” Neveah pointed to Larace “ there’s a demon,” He then pointed to Damian, “There's a big white lion creature,” She pointed at the sleeping Maine coon between Damian and Larcade, “And, there’s a flaming gorilla,” She then move to Lucas in which he swatted his finger like a fly. “Then there should be also vampires!” She begins to point herself.

Damian slightly opens his jaw. All the three guys were dumbfounded at what she said. Larcade pursed his lips to his cousin and then decided to just sleep. Neveah saw the three of them ignoring her, so she made a commotion for some second but luckily Damian knock her out and made her fall asleep. Larcade stare at Damian for clarification in which Damian said not to worry.

The two Larcade and Damian decided to just take a nap. They were tired of facing and fighting unfamiliar beings. Lucas was also drowsy but he kept himself to avoid getting into an accident. 

“Lucas?” 

An unknown yet familiar voice causes Lucas to hit the breaks. Every passenger in the car jolted awake. Because of the sudden stop of motion, Neveah hit her head. 

“Oh f**k my beautiful blue head!” She exclaimed in pain holding her newly blue-dyed hair. But, Lucas was too occupied with what he heard. ‘It comes from that direction’ He panned his head on Neveah's side. Neveah faced him with an annoyed expression. The back seat passengers, Damian and Larcade groaned in pain and also with Neveah’s voice.

Damian adjusts himself and looks around to see if all of them are ok. He notices Lucas looking at something. He moves his head to look at it too. And, then he realizes the familiar path. It’s not visible since it was already covered with weeds and trees but he was so sure.

“We have arrived,” Damian said after a moment of silence. Larcade looks at Damian and then looks outside the car window. The dense forest was all he could see. A sudden fear crept into Larcade.

“Arrive? This is all just a random place on Earth! Are you sure you’re not making this up?” Neveah complained as they went out of the car. All four of them stared at the forest. Damian gives her a blunt no. 

“You gotta be kidding me.”
