Chapter 37: New Characters? Nah

“Then you must meet him.” The creature gently hold his hand, Damian clashed his eyebrows. He was confused about the ‘him’ she meant.

“Umm, Excuse me, who is him?” Larcade leans onto his knees slightly bending his body. “He knows Isis, and he might be able to give you help!” She exclaimed.

“So this guy is like the knowledgeable grandpa? Characters that we often see in fantasy or action movies? The Sensei? ” Lucas asked following behind Damian. “Maybe, that would be so cool” Neveah said beside him.

“Well, I wouldn’t say he’s a grandpa,” A small creature said below them. Both of them looked down surprised, “He is more like the neighborhood uncle.”

All of them follow the tiny rock woman’s lead. Some of the creatures trailing behind them. All of them were curious. Ashmit who was in the last row was busy nuzzling beside Kion who was petrified by the giant thing beside him. They walk for a minute. A giant tree that was as tall as any building was visible from afar. Lucas, Neveah, and Larcade's jaw drop, and eyes widen at the massive structure that was getting nearer and nearer as they walk towards it.

A giant door was present at the center of the tree. Its design was beautiful. Curves and different shapes were visible and it was made out of what seemed to be beautiful blue and gold stained glass. Larcade was in awe at the beautiful structure of the tree that he couldn't help but touch the design. The tiny woman creature noticed his actions and chuckled which made Larcade pan his head to her.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it?” She said that made Larcade nod.

“I haven’t gotten your name yet, young man,” Larade chuckled awkwardly also realizing it now.

“My name is Larcade, and those two behind me are my companions,” Larcade pointed behind him.

Neveah and Lucas were busy conversing with each other with their topic about the designs on the exterior of the massive tree. “The boy is my friend his name is Lucas and the girl is my cousin her name is Neveah,” Damian started. The tiny woman creature stared at the two behind them and thought, ‘they also do make a good pair, Chaotic couple’ He then stared at Damian and Larcade, 'Kind and cold trope is also my thing'

“My name is Holda,” She said with a grin offering her hands, Larcade took them. “I’m a troll creature,” She said as she removes her hands-on Larcade’s and placed both of his hands on her hips. Larcade chuckled finding her adorable.

Loki and Eve, Lyn went back to their hideout. The body of their comrades was still floating behind them. They felt unsatisfied. Mostly, Eve and Lyn. They don't understand why Loki backs up on fighting the demon when they themselves have the confidence to fight them head on. One scientist took notice of them and hurriedly went towards them.

“What happened?!” He said, his voice laced with panic. Eve and Lyn went and find a spare bed to place her unconscious comrades in.

“We went and fight the demon that buffalo talk about,” Loki said while grabbing something to drink, he recalls what Damian said and he would lie if he said he wasn't feeling bitter at the outcome. He knows he's strong but he also knows that Damian is much stronger than him. His appearance, especially his golden eyes made Loki scowl. ‘The original,’

“Buffalo? wAIT---You should not call the 8th apostle like that!” The scientist scream at him but he did not even flinch. Suddenly, Damian realizes something. “Apostles,” He stood up towering over the scientist. The scientist slowly backed away making a distance away from Loki, “Tell me all about the Apostles,” Loki said. His face was stern that made the scientist slightly feel a little bit nervous.

“Why, young man?” Loki and the scientist panned their heads in the direction of the voice. A woman was sitting elegantly with her knees bend sidewards. Her outfit was skin tight and she was wearing a fur blazer. A large hat was covering her face but her scarlet hair was flowing down beneath it. The woman looked up her eyes were finally visible in that big hat, ‘Why the heck is she wearing such a large ass hat,’ Eve and Lyn thought with a scowl.

The scientist bowed respectively at the presence of the woman. Loki stared at the woman with one of his eyebrows raised, ‘She’s powerful, no doubt about it,’ Loki thought just by looking at her. Her blue eyes were glowing underneath the hat as she stared at Loki back.

“Human enhancements, am I right?” She slightly lowers her head. Her eyes were covered again with her hat. She stood up and finally, Loki, Eve, and Lyn can comprehend her appearance. Her face was sharp, her eyes were in almond shape, her blue eyes were like a deep blue sea that was filled with secrets. She took her hat and put it down, her straight scarlet hair was even remarkable. She was beautiful that even Loki who has no such interest in any woman was awed by her appearance.

“Yes they are Ms. Yale,” The scientist said while still bowing to her. Loki and the twins look at each other before focusing their attention on the woman, “Who are you?” Loki said the scientist flinched at his tone. His reaction was laced with fear, “Hey lab rat! You should not speak to the 6th apostle like that!” The scientist scream at the top of his lungs but stop when he heard the woman chuckle beside him. ‘6th apostle? Higher than that buffalo?’ Loki thought.

“The name’s Scarlet Yale, It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

She said with a grin. And the twins noticed the visible fang teeth she had when she smiled.

The others went inside the massive tree. The interior design was much more beautiful than the outside. There are also creatures that were gathered in the main hall on the tree. All of them looked at the arriving group. Neveah and Lucas share a woah as they explore the entire hall with their eyes. Damian was surprised to see such a big community of creatures. He felt a sense of relief to see the sight in front of him.

“Wow! There are so many people-no creatures here!” Lucas said with excitement.

“Different kinds too!” Neveah approached a certain tree creature. She fumbles through her pocket to get out her phone. She then ask kindly if she could take a photo and the tree creature willingly nodded. They took a photo with different poses and Neveah even invite some other creatures who were curious.

“Me too, Don't forget me!” Lucas runs to them. With his two fingers up he put up a peace sign

“Is there some kind of party?” Larcade asked.

“Well, it’s been a long time we had guests we’re just excited,” Holda said grinning brightly.

“The words sure do spread fast,” Damian said nonchalantly. ‘This guy,' Larcade stare at him.

“Hear ye! Hear YE! “ a sudden loud voice resonates throughout the entire hall. Everyone stopped what they're doing and a spotlight suddenly appeared directing towards some sort of stage. A huge creature appeared with a hat and a robe.

“Let’s welcome our very first Guests!” She announced and then a piece of music was blasted from a group of creatures. The whole hall resonated with applause. The spotlight then directed to the four of them. Larcade squints his eyes at the sudden brightness. “Humans! Welcome to our place!” The big guy on the stage said in excitement.

“Uhh no, we’re not entirely all humans. I’m a demon. And I'm here on behalf of the request of the successor of the former great sorceress.” Damian said his voice still nonchalant as possible. “Sorry?” The guy on the stage was full of bewilderment as he stares at Damian. He leaped from a very big crowd onto the stage. Every creature big and small looks up to him as he passes by above them. He landed successfully in front of the big man, “Damian?” The guy said. His eye, wide, surprised at the familiar face in front of him.

“Hello, Arash. It’s been a while,” Damian smiled. His face filled with genuine happiness of the encounter of a dear friend.
