Chapter 77: Forbidden Relation

“So who did this to you?” He asked while still embracing the guy. “A girl,” Loki replied. “Oh, you lost to a girl?” He was amused and Loki felt his shoulders shake. Loki rolled his eyes at this. Suddenly a clap was heard coming at them. Neo removed himself from Loki and saw Jaakobah with an amused and wide grin, His clap was slow. The moment he stopped clapping he was in front of Neo and Loki.

“What a surprise,”

Both Neo and Loki were surprised to see him there. “You know if you're gonna flirt don't do it in the hallway,” Jaakobah said with a snicker. Neo gave him a blank expression not amused by his presence. Jaaokobah looked at Loki and the said guy was uncomfortable by his stares. Neo then puts his hand on Loki’s wrist and pulls him from behind, hiding him. Jaakobah snickered at this. “Neo, I don't think you’re such a romanticist,” He said while approaching both of them. Neo just replied to him with a sigh. He had no ounce of willingness to converse with him. Then suddenly Jaakobah vanished and teleported behind Loki. “Well, he looks a lot like the escaped demon,” Jaakobah said behind Loki while touching his dirty blonde locks. Loki reacted fast and slapped his hand. Neo turned behind him with furrowed eyebrows.

Jaakobah looks at the hand Neo slapped. “You filthy human!” He growled and was about to attack Loki, his ego was hurt. However, Neo was fast and blocked his companion. Both of them looked at each other. Their aura slipping on them. Loki felt the grip on Neo’s hand on his wrist tighten. He squirmed it to remove his wrist but he was having a hard time. Loki looked at the two who were being silent. ‘Why am I caught up in this?’ He thought but then he recalled something. He looked at both of them and felt the surge of power coming from them, ‘Both of them are apostles,’ He thought and glanced at Neo. ‘What number is this i***t?’ He thought.

“Jaakobah!” Mabuz's voice resonates throughout the entire hall. “ What are you doing?” He said sternly. Deniera and the others followed behind him. Scarlet behind Deneira widened her eyes when he saw Loki. Jaakobah looked at them and sighed. Scarlet then approached them, “Loki? What are you doing here?” She said as she realized Neo’s hands were on his wrist. “Neo?” She asked as she looked at her friend who was still staring at Jaakobah with high alert. “I’m sorry ma’am it seems I was unintentionally caught up with them,” Loki said while pulling his hands off Neo’s grip. “ Please Excuse me,” He said and bowed to all of them, and walked away. Neo followed him with his eyes. “Neo,” His attention snapped when Deneira called out to him. “Do not fall into the rabbit hole when you are fully aware you can’t save yourself,” She muttered under her breath and followed Mabuz who was about to get away.

All of them went outside the casino. “It’s already bad enough that Deneira’s son is involved,” Jaakobah commented and Deniera rolled her eyes, “Well, it’s not like you care? Right?” Jaakobah said while leaning his head close to her face. “Do not worry, my personal feelings are already gone.” She said while pushing Jaakobah’s face with her palms. “Now that we who the great sorcerer, why don’t we complicate their side?” She said with a grin. Mabuz, Jaakobah, Scarlet, Neo and Alya stared at her.

“Because of someone’s incompetent, the creature realm is already free from the isolation curse,” She hissed and Scarlet tried herself not to lash out. “Not that it’s a problem, I think this would be easy,” She said and Mabuz gave her a look. “I will entrust you this,” Mabuz said while clearing his throat, “Four days left and the red eclipse will begin, call all the apostles and all fallens. War is starting soon,” Mabuz said.

Creature Realm

In Larcade’s room lay him on his bed still unconscious, Neveah sitting beside him, with a worried look. Lucas sitting opposite of her. “ So is the 3rd apostle your mother?” Neveah asks, breaking the silent atmosphere. Lucas look at her, “I’m as shocked as you are,” He replied, still bothered by the fact that her mother is not a human. “That explains your ability to control and create fire,” She said. “And your physical abilities,” She added while recalling their high school life. One of the reasons why Lucas had the attention was because of his awful strength. “ You already inherited her power since you were just a kid,” She said, but the more she added her statement the more Lucas’s eyebrows furrowed.

“She was once my mother,” He blurted. Neveah focused her attention on him. “But it was all gone when she left us behind,” He spat. “And now, 16 years later, I found out that she is the enemy and trying to kill the--” He stopped himself abruptly which made Neveah look at him with curious eyes. “My friend,” He said while clearing her throat. ‘“That’s kinda sus,” Neveah can't help but comment. “Deniera was the sole reason I almost went insane in prison,” A voice came up behind them. They both turned their heads and saw Damian leaning in the door frame while his arms crossed on his chest. His horns shine because of the light.

“She was the one who tortured me, did all kinds to me,” The moment Neveah heard that she covered her mouth, a hint of light blush on her face. “ Physically, Mentally and verbally,” Damian scowled. “ And, because of that, she would be the first person that I’ll kill in this upcoming battle,” He said and approached Lucas. “I do not care if she is your blood and I do not care if it would affect you,” His words made Lucas frown, “My priority is to keep my goal straight and protect the descendant with all my life if it means breaking my comrade,” He said and both of them started with each other with intensity.

“No fighting,” Neveah said with a monotone voice, tired of the two males. “Keep your feelings straight,” Damian continued, ignoring Neveah who gave him a warning glare, “Lucas Eastwood,” He finished his statement, grabbed a chair that was near him, and sat down on it. “Who said you're invited?” Neveah uttered under her breath. Damian heard it. “For once shut your mouth, dipshit,” Neveah was shocked at what he said. She was about to confront her when her phone rang. She gave Damian a glare and the said guy just rolled his eyes. Neveah picked it up.

“Hello? Who is this?” Her tone was spiteful as she grew more annoyed at the demon's behavior. “Neveah?” The familiar voice woke up Neveah and this made her sit up erect, “Auntie?” Neveah asked for confirmation. It was Athena, Larcade’s mother. “Oh good thing that you took up a signal there,” She said as Neveah heard her laugh from the other line. Lucas also stood erect and was curious about why she called. “Are you having fun? How’s Larcade? He did not give you a headache, right? Knowing your cousin he had a lack of IQ when it comes to outdoor activities,” Athena said. Neveah looks at the unconscious Larcade.

“Oh, he’s fine!” Neveah said with a laugh but it came out awkward. “He’s still asleep tho, he can’t take the phone right now sorry,” She said. “Oh that is fine, I just called because--I don’t know, I just want to assure myself that you kids are fine!” She said with a laugh. “Then goodbye now and oh tell Lucas to call his father because Drystan also wants to hear about his son, Bye!” With that Athena immediately hung up. “She told you to call your dad,”
