Swords clashings, different shouts of an unknown language from different creatures big and small were heard. The scent of smell and the scorching sunlight hitting the ground invaded all of their noses. Damian, Larcade Neveah, Lucas, and Ashmit stand there staring at the training grounds.
“You’ve spent whole 20 years preparing this?” Damian asked beside him was Arash. "Such a big army!" Neveah exclaimed. The creature looked up to Damian, “I had to. When you’re trapped and don’t know what happens on the outside, you tend to get anxious.” Arash said.
“For 20 years the bitterness of being trapped here and not able to save or do anything of your comrades fighting for their lives are still paced in our hearts and will never ever fade away until we avenge our fallen companions,” Arash said as he look at the creatures with pride.
His brows clashed. But his face was full of pain. Damian recalls the last war. The memories of everyone who lost their lives and the body of his dying teacher in his arms. “That’s why, I’ve become hopeful again, “All four of them look at Arash but he was looking at a certain guy, “Now that you’re here,” Arash put his hands on Larcade’s shoulders, “Larcade, the successor of Isis Dewin can you lend us your help?”
Somehow the situation becomes ironic. Their goal to visit the creatures was to ask for their help but it seems that fate throws a UNO reverse card. . Larcade locks eyes with Arash. Somehow, he was feeling guilty and pressured at his words. ‘Thats what makes it worst,’ Larcade felt a sudden feeling inside him, irritated? It seems. He was conflicted about what he would take. He explored the realm before and concluded that they were peaceful beings, but Larcade’s stubborn nature get the best of him.
After a while of getting to know other creatures, they had lunch and explore the realm again. Because of how occupied they were they didn't notice that the sun has already decided to hide again. Arash and Damian sat in a treehouse gazing at the creatures below them who were having fun at dinner.
“ After this night It’s going to be four days, “ Damian said with a sigh. Arash noticed his troubled expression. The said creature wrapped his arms around Damian. Arash didn’t say something but just reassured the demon beside him.
When all of the creatures felt tired they decided to go to sleep. Lucas and Larcade set up the tent while Neveah was still playing with some young creatures. After hours of playing, Neveah decided to rest for the day. Lucas followed him. Arash also said goodnight to the Demon and head out to sleep.
Larcade decided to sleep later and wait for the demon to arrive. Damian saw Larcade not asleep and was confused.
“Aren’t you sleeping?” Damian said as he took a sit on the log opposite on Larcade's.
“I’m not that sleepy, yet,” Larcade answered.
Both of them felt the awkward atmosphere that surrounds them. Larcade and Damian sat there as silence took over the entire place. Crickets, The cackles of the fire in front of them, and the sounds of the owls were the only thing that was heard. The cackles of the fire infront of them
“About, what happened in the morning,” Damian caught Larcade’s attention
“Why did you stop the fight between me and Kion?” Damian lock eyes with Larcade. It was bothering him a while ago. It wasn’t Larcade’s attitude to step in a fight especially if it involves supernatural ability.
“I never intended to,” Larcade smiled awkwardly while rubbing his nape as if embarrassed.
“But I saw something or rather someone that made me do it,” Larcade’s expression fell into a serious one. Damian slightly tilted his head, confused.
“What do you mean exactly?” Damian ask.
“When you were fighting with Kion, I saw a dark figure not far from the both of you. It was standing. But, I know it was a silhouette of a woman,” Larcade stared at the bonfire as if he was in trance. The fire began to change into a woman’s figure, “Long hair that sways along with the wind, slender figure, tall,” As he explained what he saw the fire began to picture it out., “ She was making gestures as if telling me to stop the fight and so I did,” Larcade broke his stares at the fire and look up to Damian. “The woman could it be?” There was a certain feeling that Damian felt when Larcade describe the woman’s appearance. Larcade nods understanding what he meant,
“Isis.”
Damian sighed at the familiar name. He can’t believe his ears at what he said. ‘Isis probably is annoyed by my actions by now. Judging my decisions while talking s**t in my back’ He thought imagining Isis's annoyed expression. They fell into silence. Suddenly, Damian noticed Larcade squirming in his seat and rubbing his nape. Damian raised one of his eyebrows. He felt that the guy infront of him wanted to say something so he just waited.
“About the power in me,” Larcade started. Damian focuses his attention on him. Throughout the whole day, Larcade can’t get over his mind about his decision whether if he would help the creatures. For a big decision that has a high chance that it may affect his entire life, he was scared shitless. Larcade was overthinking about the consequences. If he would choose to do this path, everyone that surrounds him will be in danger but he could help beings like the creatures. Larcade doesn’t like the concept of a hero, he prefers to be on a sideline, a side character. But, fate is a b***h, he was thrown to be a character who would be the salvation of beings that are powerless. That whole idea just made him annoyed. But he decided something that maybe can help both him and the creatures needing his help. ‘Might be stupid, but the whole situation left me with no choice,’
“I decided to finally accept this power,” Damian widened his eyes at the sudden mention of his power.
“Wha---?” Damian was unable to finish his sentence still shocked. He stood up and walk towards Larcade.
“But on one condition,” Damian flinched. ‘Condition?’ Damian’s expression was contoured with surprise, “huh??!!” Damian halted. He totally expected it. The mere fact that Larcade agree with such an idea made him baffled. “What?” He said his expression can’t pinpoint. It was a mixture of blank and unamused.
“I will help you avenge the death of The forme Great Sorceress and help Arash avenge the creatures that lost their lives in the last great war. But, after that, I would like to get rid of these powers that, she, Isis gave.”
