Chapter 69:Set it off

“Lucas?” A familiar voice made him widen his eyes. He snapped his head and saw someone he did not expect. “Neveah?” He called out as he stood up. “What the heck are you doing here?!” both of them said in unison as they pointed out at each other. Suddenly, a throat interrupts them. “You two knew each other?” Scarlet and Alya look at them. Neveah and Lucas then look at the two of them, “You two knew each other?” 

“Yeah, this is my big sis. Scarlet!” Alya said in a cutesy voice and winked her arms to Scarlet’s. “You Scarlet’s sister?” Neveah and Lucas said at the same time. “You knew this girl?” Neveah then panned her head to look at Lucas. “I just met her,” Lucas said and then Alya skip through her way to Lucas. “Hi|! You must be Lucius’s friend! My name is Alya,” She said as she offered her hand. Neveah looked at it before staring at Lucas, “Lucius?” Neveah asked, bewildered at the unfamiliar name. “Yeah?” Alya said.

“Who’s Lucius?” She said, looking at Alya. The said girl started to get confused, so Lucas laughed loudly. All the girls flinched because of this. “My friend is so funny!” Lucas approached Neveah and wrapped his arms around her in a choking way. Neveah groped his arms, trying to remove them. “What the---” She was about to resist when Lucas gave her a look. “Oh, yes! I was just joking. I know Lucius. I even know his surname. Lucius Malfoy!” Neveah said in a confident manner. Lucas widened his eyes at this. “But his name is Lucius Potter,” Alya said with raised brows. Neveah paused at this. “That was also a joke too!” She said as she broke out from Lucas’s grasp. 

Alya stared at them, Neveah and Lucas averted their eyes because of this. But the said girl laughed at it, “. Your friend is good. I like him,” Alya said while smiling at Neveah. “Her,” Scarlet blurted out. All three of them panned their heads at her. “He’s a her,” Scarlet said, staring intently at Neveah. “What? You’re a girl? You’re very handsome,” Alya said, approaching Neveah. “ You haven’t given me your name yet,” Alya said with a smile. Neveah scratched his head, “ My name is Nail,” She said with a smile and Lucas looked at him weirdly, ‘Nail? That’s an ugly name,’ he thought.

“But, he called you ‘Neveah’?” Lucas and Neveah panned at Lucas with wide eyes, who were looking so serious. “ That’s right! I heard you called Lucius, Lucas? Why’s that?” Alya asked. Both girls, Alya and Scarlet, waited for their reply. “Nicknames,” Neveah answered. Lucas nodded. “We have been given nicknames to each other since we’ve been friends for so long and our names are ugly as fck,” Neveah said, and Lucas looked at her offended. Alya laughed at her answer and Scarlet looked at Neveah, who was trying not to look into her glowing blue eyes. 

“So you’ve known each other?”Lucas tried to avoid the topic. “Why do you know me?” Scarlet then focused his attention on the only male in the group. “Why not? Ms. Scarlet Yale, Owner of this Casino we’re in,” Lucas said in a formal manner, “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Lucas said, grabbing her hands and kissing the back of it. Scarlet looks down at him. But Lucas was yanked away by Alya. “ Now that all of us are here let’s drink the night away!” She said, dragging Lucas. Scarlet smiled at her behavior and also followed them after stealing a glance at Neveah. The said girl gulped and followed Scarlet not until she saw something peculiar at the corner of the hall. She looked at it and saw a man with silver-colored hair. Neveah squinted her eyes, trying her best to scan the guy to see if she knew him, but the lights of the club were so dim that she could not comprehend who it was.

Neveah flinched at the sudden voice in her head. It was a voice that he had not heard before in her life, yet it was so familiar to her. She didn’t know, but the moment she heard the voice she immediately looked at the guy. She then saw one of his eyes glowing in the dark. Then a force on his necklace was released again. “Nial?” A hand was placed on her shoulders so that he snapped and almost assaulted the person. Fortunately, she was able to stop herself because if she did not, who knows what Scarlet would do since she was the one who broke her chain of thought. 

“I’ve been calling you many times, is there something wrong?” Scarlet asked the tall female. Neveah touched her necklace but the energy was no longer there. “Nial?  I don’t like repeating my words. If there’s something wrong, tell me,” Scarlet said with a stern voice, this made Neveah wake up from her trance. “Yes, sorry I was lost in space for a moment,” Scarlet furrowed her eyebrows at her answer but quickly dismissed it as she joined Lucas and Alya, Neveah following behind her. They started to drink any kind of alcoholic beverage the two, Scarlet and Alya requested.

Meanwhile, in the other hall, Damian and Larcade were in the center of the game room, staring above. On the ceiling, at the center, was a giant diamond orb chandelier where, if you look closely, you can see some green light swirling around the orb. “That’s it?” Larcade asked. Damian looked closely at the orb and he was also skeptical. “The energy brought us here, this is the only place where you can feel a massive force coming from there,” Damian said while pointing at the chandelier.  Larcade sighed.

“How do we even get that? It’s a chandelier and this place is packed and filled with human guests until 3 a.m,” Larcade whispered to Damian. Both of them scan the entire hall. It was indeed filled with humans. “And the problem is, Loki and his goons and even Scarlet Yale is here? How do we suppose to steal it?? ” Larcade then started to complain, feeling anxious that his companion wasn’t even answering. “ And the fact that it’s inside a chandelier. Do we have to break it? What a great way to cause a scene,” Larcade said as she shook her legs feeling agitated and couldn't stay still. “ Causing a scene?” Damian finally said something. Larcade looked at him anticipating what he was gonna say next. “That’s right, if we can’t steal it without getting caught, then we should get caught before stealing it,” Damian said as he removed his coat. “What? Are you crazy? We would be dead if we did that,” Larcade exclaimed in disbelief. “That’s why you should let me finish,” Damian said with a voice laced with sarcasm. “We caused a scene, let them know we’re here, and then grab the elementia and escaped,” Damian said. ‘That’s a dumb plan’

Larcade rolled his eyes, “Then they’ll know!” He said. “They’ll know that you’re here, They’ll know that I am the successor!” Larcade said with gritted teeth, “I can’t risk doing some stupid plan that would make them hunt and kill me in any second by those apostles,” Larcade was feeling annoyed again and his green eye slowly turned visible again and even glowing, “So? Let them show what you're capable of. All of the times I spent with Isis she always taught me not to turn your back on your enemy, even if you're tired or scared, show them what you’ve got,” Damian smirked at him. His confident expression made Larcade exhale, giving up.

Meanwhile, Lucas and Neveah began to feel tipsy as Scarlet and Alya were still giving them drinks. “ You’re that young?!” Alya exclaimed while talking to Lucas. “I must say I am indeed that young,” Lucas smirked at her. They were talking about their ages because Alya was curious. Neveah, who heard the smug reply of her friend, rolled her eyes. “How old are you?” Lucas asked Alya this time. Nevah slurred her throat. “You know my dear friend, one existent rule in this world is to never ask a woman’s age,” Neveah joined in their conversation as she rested her arms on Lucas’s shoulders. “ Am I right, my lady?” Neveah then turns into Alya. She winked at her and this made Alya blush. “Wow, I’m getting forgotten,” Scarlet Yale blurted out, which made all three of them focus their attention on her. 

Neveah chuckled. “I didn’t mean to do that. Are you upset?” Neveah turns to Scarlet. The said girl smirked at Neveah’s behavior, but then a sudden ominous foreboding was felt throughout her that made her flinch and jolt standing up. Lucas and Neveah were alerted to her sudden actions. “ Sis, what’s wrong--” Alya stopped herself as she also felt the same ominous foreboding. Lucas and Neveah look at each other bewildered at their actions.

Suddenly, a text came making Neveah and Lucas’s phone vibrate. Both of them took out their phones. Their eyes widen at the text. We found the Elementia. “ Excuse me for a minute,” Scarlet said, taking a step, but before she could walk away she stole a glance at Neveah. The said girl nodded at her and smiled awkwardly.  

“I’m joining her, wait here Lucius,” Alya said with a smile to Lucas. She then kissed his cheek, which made Lucas widen his eyes in surprise. “I had a good time,” She said shyly with a blush, and then followed Scarlet. Lucas froze in his seat. Neveah looked at him with disgust, “I can tell you're enjoying it or not and whatever your reaction is, it's melting my eyes,” Neveah said with sarcasm. Lucas stood up and glared at her, “We did not say anything about this that happened,” he said and walked away. Neveah scoffed, she was about to retort when Lucas snapped his head at her, “Ever!” He said in a stern voice.

“Excuse me, sirs? A sudden familiar voice came up behind them. They both looked behind them and saw Loki with Neveah’s phone. “ You left these,” Loki said while handing her phone. Suddenly, a text came up again on Neveah’s phone and it lit up. Loki looked down and saw the text with Larcade’s name on it. He even saw Neveah’s lock screen; a picture of her and Larcade. Loki looks at it. Neveah and Lucas froze in their spot. Loki smiled and handed her phone again and Neveah hurriedly took it. “I’m sorry it’s just that there's someone familiar on your phone.” He said with a smile. 

Neveah and Lucas were not sure if he caught on but they quickly dismissed it. Neveah looked at her phone and saw the text Larcade sent, ‘Damian said we’re gonna steal it right here, right now’ Neveah reacted to what Larcade sent. Suddenly, the alarm went off in the entire casino, which made Lucas and Neveah halt. They saw everyone leaving the club, following them, but when they were about to leave the hall, the door in front of them closed, leaving them left alone in the club. “I thought it was just a coincidence, but when I looked at your faces again. You are fire boy and that annoying girl,” Loki’s voice resonated in the hall. 

“ I will never forget how they beat me up,” Lucas and Neveah panned their heads at Naki who had just come out of the shadows. “Neither do I,” Ava appeared beside him. “Hey, I was the one who they’d beat up and I almost went barbecued!” Alexander also appeared and look at Lucas, “And, here I was thinking you're just a regular guest,” Alexander growled at Lucas. “Loki, Scarlet, and the others also find their companions,” Eve and Lyn walked in from the door in front of Neveah and Lucas. Both of them backed away and stopped at the center of the club. The flashing lights were still going and Neveah and Lucas did not know what to do as they were cornered by the five goons. 

Meanwhile, let’s take a look back on the scene and as to why the alarm rang off. Damian and Larcade were still standing under the chandelier. “All of the time I spent with Isis she always taught me not to turn your back on your enemy, even if you're tired or scared, show them what you’ve got,” Larcade exhaled, giving up. “Okay, how do we do this,” Damian noticed a cue that was held by a man who was playing pool. Before the man can strike his ball, Damian steals it.

Larcade looked at him confused. The man looked at Damian with a glare, “What are you--” But he was cut off by Damian. “I’m sorry but I need this more than you do,” he said. He found a gold glass cup that was placed on a shelf acting as an interior design for the casino. He then hit it, which caused it to smash into pieces. Larcade let his jaw drop. “Hey! You!” Suddenly, guards of the casino surrounded them. “Let’s go,” Larcade looked at him, “Let’s get this party started,” he said as he raised his hand and shot it out at a huge frame that was hung on the wall. His magic beam caused the entire guest to scream and run away from him. The alarm went off and made Larcade sigh, “Oh man~”. He sighed.

“What is the meaning of this?!” A woman's voice resonated in the hall. Larcade and Damian looked at her. Scarlet-haired, blue-glowing eyes that glared bore into Damian. “What is a demon doing in my grounds?” She growled as her aura seeped out through her. Larcade widened his eyes. “Well, well, the host is here,” Damian smirked, amused plastered on his face.
