Chapter 26: Copy of one

“So is this the infamous escaped demon?”

 Naki said his smirk was proudly plastered on his face. Ava and Alexander were beside him while Eve, Lyn, and Loki were behind him. Damian and Neveah glared at the unknown five in front of him.

“Were you the ones who did this?” Damian asked, his face stoned. 

Five juveniles that he didn’t even meet are now facing in front of him, making trouble. His current situation makes him grit his teeth. He glanced at the unconscious Larcade in his arms. ‘ If I can let them not notice the other three. I can fight them head-on.’ Damian thought. He glanced at Neveah. 

“Hey.” He called out to her. He walked away and headed to the car. He placed Larcade carefully beside the run-down vehicle. Neveah followed him, placing Lucas beside Larcade. 

“Guard them. If you’re in danger,” He said to her ‘I hope not.'

“Shout my name and I’ll come running to you.” His voice was stern, Neveah can’t help but nod instead of retorting. He walked away back to their former place.

  “So you’re that Damian,” Alexander said while he adjusted his glasses to make himself cooler. Damian squints his eyes, not amused by his actions. 

“Let me guess,” Damian started earning all of their attention. 

“Those 12 shits sent you here?” Their faces made Damian slightly happy. He's now the one who passes a mocking smirk on his face. He scrunched his nose when he take a whiff of their scents. His face distorted, covering his nose and mouth. 

“What the heck are you?! Your smells a lot like a disgusting shit.” He said almost barfing when the foul smell hit his senses.

Ava, Naki, and Alex took in what he said. They sniff themselves and also their clothes but they didn’t smell any hint of foul scent on them.

“What the-- are you trying to make fun of us?” Naki shouted at Damian. His loud voice echoed in the wide road. Luckily for them, this road was not a common path for cars to take. A vacant place that people seldomly drive on.

Damian thanked Lucas in his mind for choosing this path. It was decided to be just a shortcut for Lucas to drive on who would have to think that they’ll meet enemies here. 

“Everything about you smells bad. Like a rotting fish and a dog’s s**t mixed up together.” Naki, Ava, and Alex stood there because of what he said.

“That's unusual to put it that way.” Two voices said in unison. Damian’s eyes panned on the conjoined twins smiling at him. It made him slightly creep up on how they looked at him from head to toe. Damian ignored the two and panned his head to the man standing beside them.

Damian’s eyes slightly widen when he makes his appearance. ‘Horns and tails..’ He scans everything about him, suddenly a small magic beam was coming toward him at an incredible speed. Luckily, Damian’s senses were sharper, he avoid it in a second. 

“Never liked greetings, so let’s just go down to business.” Loki smiled at him which made Damian throw him a glare.  A roar was heard from the side. The five except for Damian snapped their heads to the sound. The white Lion transforms into his original form.

His white fur shining because of the light. Ashmit towered behind Damian and posed proudly. Damian scoff when their faces contoured with a shocked expression.

 “Oh, I like going down to business,” Damian said his tone meant to ridicule them. He touched Ashmit’s body. 

“Don’t mind this big guy over here. He can smell fear.” He said with an eye smile.

“A creature?” Eve uttered under her breath.

 “What’s a creature doing here? And, what’s a creature?” Lyn asked her sister but Eve just rolled her eyes not wanting to answer her.

 “A creature is one of the categories of supernatural beings. They took in the appearance of plants and also animals. But they are much more powerful than ordinary living things, not to mention their vast magic power.” Loki explained staring at the majestic body of Ashmit. 

“Let me ask you just one question?” Damian said acting all innocent. It made the three in front of him annoyed.

 “Are you those kinds of humans that chose to be experimental lab rats?” And with his question, Naki sees red and attacks him. Alex was caught off guard by Naki's actions. Naki was about to close in with Damian but Ashmit block his path giving a powerful roar that blasted him up to his companions. Loki rolled his eyes at the result. ‘There no surprise there. This guy is full of brawns with no brains.’ 

Alex helped his friend in getting up. “He’s doing it on purpose, Naki,” Alex said trying to calm him down. “He’s doing that just to rile us all up.” Ava finished his sentence not letting her eyes wander off on Damian. ‘The more I look at him, the more I think he’s my type.’ Ava thought a slight blush was evident on her face. She flinched when Damian’s eyes darted on her. The companions beside her stared at her with a dumbfounded expression.

“Oh! My bad? It was purely an unintentional comment.” Damian said with a mocking tone that made them truly annoyed. Their eyes twitched when they saw the fuzzy atmosphere behind Damian who wore an innocent smile on his face. “Dammit, I want to kill him.” Naki expressed his anger. He gritted his teeth while he clenched his fist. 

Neveah watched everything unfold like a movie in front of her. She gulps when she saw Naki approach Damian in a flash. But sighed in relief when Ashmit protected him. ‘That’s my big boy right there.’ She thought wiping the nonexistent tear on her eyes. Suddenly she heard a groan beside her. She snapped when it caught her attention. She saw Lucas slowly opening his eyes. Neveah’s face beamed as he move to Lucas’s side. Lucas grunt and groaned feeling a slight pain in his head. 

“What happened?” He said while touching his head. He saw blood on his hand that made his eyes widen, his senses froze. 

“M-m-my b-b-blood--?”
