Chapter 28: Strength of Two

“I’m not a patient person and I’m feeling kinda annoyed right now by the stares of my replica.”

 Damian was frustrated about the identity of his look-alike. Somehow his aura made Damian more annoyed than it was. It also didn’t help when Loki watched him fight with Ava as if scanning and analyzing him.

“So what’s your deal, doppelganger?” Damian called out on Loki. 

Damian’s eyebrow clashed and a visible nerve was shown to his face. They both stared at each other. Damian is waiting for his answer. Loki ignored his question. Suddenly Ava bolted to Damian. Her shadow whips aiming at his heart. Damian clicked his tongue. ‘How stubborn’ Damian raised his arms. An invisible force stopped Ava in her tracks. Damian lifted his hands which also made Ava lift into the air. 

“ I don’t deal with someone weaker than me.” He swat his hands and Ava was plunged into the woods. 

The twins widen their eyes amused by Ava’s poor welfare.

 “So, you're one of those people who get down to killing rather than talking.” Eve and Lyn said in unison. 

Damian panned his attention to the twins and give them a half-assed smile. 

“Well you see, doppelgangers here made me annoyed.” He raised his right hand. Connecting his middle finger and his thumb. He flicks his fingers. Suddenly a small scratch appeared on Loki’s face. 

“He doesn’t answer when somebody asks him. So I should discipline him.”. Both of them were now sending daggers at each other. 

Naki was now breathing heavily. Blood drops as he exhales and inhales. He was having a hard time fighting off Ashmit and it seems that Ashmit has completely overpowered him. This made Naki frustrated. Emitting the same whips again Ashmit destroyed it with his ice. Naki was being stubborn, his lack of experience in fighting was a hindrance to his current situation. He gritted his teeth while he fell down on his knees, exhausted by the amount he used on his power. He suddenly recalled his old life. This made Naki’s hand turn into a ball.

 “ I’m not going to be a useless son-of-a-b***h again!” His aura suddenly took over his surroundings. Brown smokes crawls and floats on the road.

Damian and the others took notice of his aura. Damian’s stomach churned as the foul smell was evading his nose. He covered it quickly. ‘What the hell is this?’ Damian thought. His mind became unstable because of the stink.  Damian notices Ashmt groaning, affected by the smell too. He quickly dashed in the white lion’s direction. He saw Naki, purple veins were now visible on his entire face. 

The twins, Loki and Alex watch Naki go out of control. Baffled on why he suddenly lost his rationale. Not that they cared about him but dealing with an insane person was making them sigh because of the work. Alex panned his head to the trio below him. Not moving an inch as they also watched Naki. His scream was making them panned their attention to him. 

“What is that coming out of him?” Neveah asked confused. 

“I don’t know, probably fart,” Lucas answered. Neveah looks at him with a dumbfounded expression, “I don’t think farts have that kind of appearance, sir Lucas.” Neveah said.

 “Well, why are you asking us in the first place?” Lucas retorted at her. His voice was laced with sarcasm. They stared at each other waiting for the other to pounce first. Larcade in between them stared at nothing.

 “You two really have low self-awareness in your surroundings.” Alex broke the tension between the troublesome duo. The three of them flinched when they heard his voice again.  Alex jumped off. Landing in front of the trio. Alex and Larcade accidentally locked eyes. A sudden shiver was felt on Alex’s spine. He felt an unknown aura in Larcade that made him confused. He suddenly grabbed Larcade’s collar. Lucas and Neveah widen their eyes, surprised. They both grabbed Alex’s arms, their expression mixed with nervousness and resentment as they stared at Alex. Larcade, also grabbing Alex’s hands on his collar, tried to remove it.

“Who are you?” Alex stared at Larcade intently.

 Suddenly he saw a sudden green light on Larcade’s eyes.

 “Let go of him.” Lucas' voice was deep when he said that. Alex smirked, amused by him and Neveah’s confidence. He let go of Larcade’s collar. Neveah and Lucas did the same to his arm. Ales backed away a couple of steps while raising his arms. “Oh, sorry,” Alex smirked. 

“I didn’t mean it.”

Damian dashed headed to Naki. He stops his tracks when he arrived behind him. Naki was shouting his eyes clouded. The foul smell went stronger and Damian felt dizzy. ‘f**k’ He unleashed his claws. He aims it to Naki’s neck. However, a sudden force blasts them off.

He flew off the road and into the ground. Naki and Damian land with a thud. Damian groaned, wincing from the pain in his arms. He notices Naki, finally unconscious. ‘ Thank God it was over.’ Something caught in the corner of his eyes. He moves his head in the direction.

The twins looked down at him with a fierce look. Loki walked beside the twins. Damian clicked his tongue not amused by what he sees. It also made him quite annoyed when he saw a hint of mock in Loki’s expression.

Due to Damian’s impatience. He dashed to Loki and in a matter of seconds, he was now in front of him. His claws were almost touching Loki’s face but the familiar force hit him again making him fly off. He levitates above the three. Eve and Lyn with their hands up stand in front of Loki. Damian felt annoyed about the disturbance. A black hole appeared on Loki’s chest, abruptly. Loki groaned and fell to his knees as the black force slowly swallowed him inside. Eve and Lyn were alerted by the sounds he make put down their hands. Because of their attention on someone else, the magic that made Damian fly in the air was slipping away. Damian fell but land perfectly on the ground. 

He felt satisfied as his replica crouched down in pain. He noticed the twins helping out Damian. ‘They’re annoying.’ Damian raised his arms. He made his palms slowly into fists. Eve and Lyn suddenly screamed in pain. Invisible forces were tightening down their bodies. 

He felt satisfied with the pain they were going through. Suddenly he took notice of the black hole on Loki’s chest. He expected it to be gradually getting bigger however the black hole was doing the opposite. Damian took his guard up. He jumped away giving a safe distance. 

Loki regained his composure and stood upright the black hole slowly vanishing on his chest.

 “You need to do better than that” Loki smirked. Damian felt uncomfortable because of it. Instead of questioning himself how he did that he waste no on attacking him. Loki smirked and also raised his arms. A white beam shoots out on his palms. His magic beam was much fainter than Damian. Their beam clashed when it met. Damian gritted his teeth. He panned his attention to the twins. He tightens the grip on their bodies as they shriek in pain. 

‘How? It seems he has the same powers as us?’ both twins thought at the same time. Loki looks at him, his face smug. Loki return the same attitude given by Damian a while ago and this made Damian twitch his eyes in annoyance.

“ So, copycat,” Damian started. “ Is it amusing?” Damian gritted his teeth when he said that. Loki snickers at his reaction. “Yes, actually,” Loki answered wholeheartedly.

‘He’s a jerk.’ Damian painted his face with a scowl.

“ To the point, you sell your humanity over some unoriginal power?” Loki’s face suddenly becomes serious. It was Damian’s turn to snicker when he hit a nerve. 

“ Come on now, doppelganger. I bet you were thinking about some f****d up s**t in your head when they offer you this power.” Damian continues to ramble at him. His goal is to annoy Loki.

“ I can give you some free advice” Loki stared at him with no reaction. This made Damian quite bored. 

“ Just kill yourself, filth.” Damian gives him his kindest smile. 

Suddenly the link of Damian on Eve and Lyn was cut off. The twins screamed when they escaped the grasp of Damian’s force. 

“Don’t ever talk like that to Loki!” They shouted at Damian in unison.

“ Don’t act as if you know someone’s life! You’re just a demon!” This made Damian's blood boil. He glared at the three of them. He released his magic aura. His demon form took over him. Eve, lyn, and Loki felt chills on their body as they stare at Damian who was emitting a very powerful aura.

Suddenly a bang was heard not far from them. A body flew past in between the three. Damian was surprised at what happened that he happened to stop his rage. Eve, Lyn and Loki widen their eyes also surprised. Alex's body landed on the ground with a thud. 

The three of them look in the direction where he came from. A big green forcefield was shielding Neveah and Larcade. While Lucas stands in there with his fist raised as if he was punching. But, what caught them the most is the fire that was flaming over his hands.

“What in the world?”
