The coffee shop was quiet when she arrived, warm light pouring in through the front windows and casting everything in soft gold. Danielle stopped just outside, her hand on the door. She could already see Seth through the glass, slouched in the corner booth like he always used to sit in class—elbows on the table, drink in hand, looking like he wasn’t sure why he’d agreed to come.
